The Gran Turismo series can't win anymore when it comes to reviewers. In the past you only had 5 to 10 review sites which were generally good and not involved in console wars despite there being different consoles. Now with the XBox generation it always seems like a pissing match. Metacritic I believe is to blame for this slew of crappy websites. Even N4G plays a part. To think of it a company like Microsoft or SONY could even invest in a dozen of these websites without anyone knowin...

I think the only reviews that should be trusted are those who can verify what level they reached. In the past a reviewer had to play a game to completion to review it. Now it seems you can get away with playing a game five hours to give a full review. I think websites like metacritic should really take that more into account. I am level 10 and I have even hit the tip of the iceberg. Level 10 and only 11% complete. Something tells me most of these negative reviews haven't even got th...

That's the whole thing about the GT series. If you haven't been a fan, your probably not going to be a fan now. If you have loved the GT series since day one this game rocks. I actually feel like a kid playing this game. Staying up late and waking up early to play...

I bought the G25 when GT Prologue came out mainly for this game. I can say it is awesome but there is a degree of learning. It has awesome feedback that does simulate actual driving with any car you may have. Sometimes I prefer the controller just because it is easy... But you really can't beat off road racing with the wheel. If you are a big GT fan you need this wheel... Of course you also need the racing seat and mount to go with it.... Your probably going to get set back $400......

Then the guy complains about the music which has always been the same. Except GT5 has much more music and actually a lot of very good songs for racing that set mood.... and guess what?? If you don't like the music play your own... That's a simple concept.

These reviews are so contradicting. Firstly they compliment how great the game is and then they say that it's just not that good... It's like trying to tell you girlfriend she's great but she's also mediocre. What is this a bipolar review? Make up your mind. I really think these reviews are just way off base. This game is great. I will be playing this for many, many months.

I find this kind of insulting. Considering they are going to try and redefine what is already a great story. Why take something that is already great and change it dramatically. Mark Wahlberg is not the face of Uncharted. In the interview he doesn't even seem to have any concept of what the story is about...

I think the negative reviews will backfire and just cause more hype. In a way I think it will bring the GT community together even more. GT is about word of mouth. When people start hearing how much we love this game they will know they have to have it.

Exactly and it's not just 15 year olds... Racing enthusiasts can be any age. I fell in love with this game when it first released in 1997. I think the same can be true for people of any age who have a true love of cars. Now the people who think putting a loud muffler on a Honda with 110 hp can stick with Forza.

Batsmoke you may be right in your trolling ways. People who have never played a Gran Turismo game may be disappointed because they were expecting more action and crashes. Although you are not accounting for the over 10 million GT fans that are going to love this game because it's true to the series.

Wow... The 360 fanboys are calling GT5 a failure. They have to be kidding themselves. I as a big GT fan would say all I want is the same game with more cars and tracks. The added features are nice but they don't make the game. I guarantee you most GT fans don't even look at the reviews because by definition they are casual gamers. They hardly play any games. They will still buy GT5 and love it. This game will easily sell two to three times what any Forza game has ever done. So...

That is the problem with half the reviews and the sites reviewing them. Gran Turismo fans who are real racing enthusiasts will love the game because it stays true to formula. I love the boring career mode because I am establishing a career. Gran Turismo is not COD. Gran Turismo is no Need for Speed. Maybe it's just how this generation has changed and they expect non stop action. I do think GT fans are going to be very happy with this product.

All I know is GT5 is going to be a great game. That's plain and simple. Next off you Forza fans can make your comments all you want but no matter how hard you try the GT series will always be many times more popular.

Two years ago Uncharted 2 was revealed during the VGA's. Expecting a two year cycle I wouldn't be surprised. Also Left for Dead may have it's fans it's not that high profile of a game to get it's own day.

Every website around is going to have a review of this game.. like it or not. This game is so high profile that I wouldn't be surprised to see Metacritic post nearly 100 reviews for this game. It's probably the most anticipated game on any console for at least the last couple of years. The highest profile games on the other consoles have been out at least twice. This is over 4 years and waiting. I remember waiting for this game when the PS2 was about to give way to the PS3. I re...

Omega and Cold want to make a mountain out of a molehill. Games like GT5 will not be effected by reviews. This game like all the GT games has staying power and has always been about word of mouth and not reviews. The GT community is one of the largest gaming communities around and I am sure there are millions of GT fans that don't even own a PS3 as of yet. Although this game will be the one that gets them to buy a PS3...

ryuzu,

Although a lot of people will be online, the GT series has never been about playing online. It's always been about establishing a career. I can understand that Prologue was the first game that had online but it also didn't have career. I think most original GT fans like I will be playing this for the career mode... Not to say I won't play online but that is not the reason I am getting this game.

Neckbear,

If that is your argument then every game could be considered a sim. COD could be considered a military simulator and Madden could be a football simulator. Gran Turismo is a racing game. A game that is so realistic it seems like a simulation.

Is it really that big of a deal... It's kart mode and someone wants to troll over that. Tell me how many racing games even have go kart's?

5536d ago 38 agree7 disagreeView comment

some people would think rewind is good. Those people should not be playing GT5. The GT series is unforgiving. Of course you can always pause if you have distractions. This game is about racing. It's not about being a bad driver and being able to correct yourself every time you screw up.
