We already see the results of things that are slapped together. Consoles that have a very high mortality rate because of being "efficient". Games that have frame rate problems. Quality takes time but also yields a higher quality product. The PS3 is just an extension of that belief. Once developers know the PS3 it will be the best ride they have taken. Write now many with their Devry educations can't handle something that is outside the box.
people want to criticize SONY for whatever they do. It's a no win situation with some people out there. I guess some people think that everything should be spoon fed because making something more difficult is not nice.
Essentially he is saying that the harder it is to develop for the more developers will get out of it in the long run. Three or four years down the road developers will still be figuring things out for the PS3. Look at God of War 2 and how great that looked. Untapped potential means down the road a game like Killzone 2 may only only look average compared to what developers are doing.
What a list... This doesn't even include the announced games for 2009... If Gran Turismo 5 makes it's way out that will be like the cherry on top for me...
then show'em... A high profile game on any console will sell a high percentage of the times a console is sold. Just about every marquee game has that effect. Gran Turismo, Mario, and Halo are all games that have this effect. Little Big Planet may have the same effect for the PS3...
that if someone is having a child play a game online they would keep video feed off. It makes no sense that people would take that chance. There are really too many people that want to expose others to their strange world. Parents need to be more responsible in censoring what their children may be exposed to...
because IGN which is a much more reputable review site did not address this issue on the PS3... Actually both the 360 and PS3 got the same score. Anyone who actually played the PS3 demo also would have not noticed any frame rate hitches. So if some site is going to write this up they need to prove it. Otherwise I think all the sites that have reviewed this game saying there are no differences in the 360 and PS3 version are correct.
Graphics that are so immersive they make you feel part of the action do sell. This game will have the same effect Gears had when it first came out. I remember playing/watching it and just being in awe of the beauty. Now with Killzone 2 I think people will be feeling the same effect if not even more. Some of the battle scenes are incredible and can't even be outdone by Hollywood.
Some journalists really should only be doing editorials. So I guess by improving a concept and making it better it's a rip-off??? So Guitar Hero adding drums to their game also makes it a rip-off now???
Good ideas are always copied. WIthout things being copied we wouldn't see improvements over the original products. To bad this writer wants to spread his bias to the world...
how some of you always want to discredit SONY... Do you really think SONY expected to roll over the competition at their price point. I know they had some arrogance coming in to this generation but they were realistic. I do think SONY will overcome it's price and with it's very strong first party support they will do very well in the long run. The PS3 has a ten year plan. They haven't even reached the 25% mark. It's not to say they will sell 100 million consoles but I do think in the lo...
online game... I know it may not be stellar like COD or Resistance but it's just a lot of fun. Warhawk was home to many great battles and the pace is like no other game I have ever played. I am really looking forward to what they can put out next.
it's best to wait. Chances are you won't be getting a good deal for a week or two when they slash prices again. People get to carried away at first with the word sale and end up paying a price that really isn't that great...
I think it was a timed exclusive in the first place... Gabe Newell hinted at PS3 development... They probably had six month 360 exclusivity. So I guess we will see if it's a good port.
Microsoft wasn't working with You Tube... I thought that after Microsoft tried to acquire Yahoo that they wanted to compete directly with Google/You Tube.
giving the same look when I was watching that gameplay... Killzone 2 is going to be amazing. Give it a big screen and surround sound and I'm in gamer heaven.
these negative articles seem to become more and more prevalent as we get closer and closer to the release of Killzone 2. I think some of these writers fear the effect Killzone 2 will have on the 360. So why not try and convince hardcore gamers the PS3 is a bad investment.
Killzone 2 will be very real and it will be the reason many 360 owners get a PS3...
Hopefully they have addressed the frame rate issues they had in the first. I find it strange that after two years some of these developers don't know how to maximize the PS3... I think the main problem is developers put the PS3 second and don't care about getting the most out of it. You would think if a game was capable of selling over a million on the PS3 the developer would put more into it...
has never been the casual market. Of course casual franchises did very well like Singstar(over 17 million) and Buzz. SONY's base has made it successful. Gran Turismo is far from casual and it proved that simulation games can do very well on a console. Then of course you have Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, and many other franchises that are far from casual. SONY made gaming mainstream and put out a lot of quality. The Wii on the other hand is becoming a dump for lower quality party games....
That's like saying the that without the PS2 game developers would have been jobless... Actually that is true since the PS2 dominated the market and is the reason most of these companies have been so successful. The 360 has done a good job but nothing even close to the scale of the PS2. I think both the PS3 and 360 are doing a good job at selling the good games...
SONY has something big coming. To make statements like Kaz made goes beyond Killzone 2. I am thinking a price drop. Also I think 2009 is bringing out the confidence that SONY hasn't had until now for the PS3...
Aaron on the other hand thinks he needs to open his mouth everytime anything is said about the 360...
