So Doom didn't make a lot of money? (sarcasm)
Let's see how well Wolfenstein 2 does, I bet it will do a lot better than the first one.
I've seen "death to [insert genre here]" more times than I can remember. Mobile gaming didn't destroy console gaming, death of triple A games hasn't happened, single player games are still successful and will still exist because the market is dictated by what people want, not what developers/...
Publishers that still do single player (successfully): Ubisoft, Square Enix, Sony and all its first party studios, Nintendo and their inhouse studios, Bethesda, shit even Microsoft.
Titles that have done well financially and critically in the last couple of years that are SP: Witcher 3, Uncharted 4, Doom, Dark Souls III, Horizon Zero Dawn, Forza 6+Horizon, Resident Evil 7, Zelda, Final Fantasy XV (you could argue that this is a GaaS but I played it for its SP content and I ...
How can anyone of you know for a fact that they did have a choice to when to release it? You think they had unlimited funds? Don't judge unless you truly were in their shoes.
Seems to me they are doing a lot of things to set things right, and I admire that they don't try to hype anything up but just quietly work away and then release this massive free update that appears to be one of several as multiplayer is stated to become more fleshed out.

Wish they had a shot at Heavenly Sword 2. I am sure it'd play way better with their experience. I enjoyed the first one it wasn't without its fault.
Blacklisting is done not just by Konami, but by many video game companies. It's an ugly practice, it doesn't take into account that people can change, that there's another side to every reason why someone left a company and so on. I realize Konami is the big baddie on the block but don't fool yourselves into thinking it's not done by a lot of other companies in the US and UK.
I am def against always online and some of the live action was a bit hookey, but the gameplay was really fun IMO and the graphics were gorgeous. Perhaps it felt a bit smaller than other entries, but overall really enjoyed it as an arcade racer. I think if they have grown from the experience that this one will be better which would make it a title to look forward to IMO.
I paid $5 so that I could play the first 10 hours using EA's subscription program (I'm going to discontinue the subscription). It allowed me to make up my mind without reading people's opinions and while it's not the best game to come out in the last two months it's very addictive and a lot of fun as soon as you get past the animations and look of the characters. I ended up buying it and have no regrets.
I really hope this is true. I think the game has tonnes of potential. The E3 demo really impressed, and the footage of Pro version was really impressive.
The toxicity surrounding this game is absurd. I never felt the characters were well made or well animated but having now put ~20-25 hours into the game it's not at all a bad game. In fact I quite enjoy it. It's unfortunate that it was released close to Horizon Zero Dawn and Breath of the Wild. The sex aspect has never been a motivation for me to play the Mass Effect series so I can't really relate with people who do.
Looks amazing, not sure how anyone can deny that. Not a sim fan myself, but depending on how expansive the VR experience is and how well it runs on the Pro I will pick it up.
I don't see Switch being anything more than the Wii or the Wii U; a fad. They may make money, but as a gamer I would have much rather have had Horizon Zero Dawn's graphics with the charm and nostalgia of Zelda. Nintendo isn't going to give me that. They seem intent on giving me experiences that I played 5-10 years ago and masquerading it as something new with gimmicks.
Nintendo is not the company I grew up with, personally I find that sad. Sony is now that comp...
I of course could be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if sales drop off very quickly, like Nintendo's two past consoles. The Wii was very successful, but it wasn't as long-lived as people seem to think. It was a very successful fad. The Switch will most likely suffer from a slow stream of new games with most of the quality titles coming from Nintendo themselves and they can only produce so many games. I doubt there will be much proper Switch third party support.
Don't get how many of you can defend him, it's pretty scary actually. I grew up around people like him, they may truly think they are joking but it doesn't in any way make his display of antisemitic content any less disgusting. The guy is one of the most admired people on neo nazi's webpages -- that should tell you something. When you get to that point, your credibility that it's just a joke, that it's commentary and satire on today's world goes out the window. If ...
I think it's pretty obvious how (not so) powerful the GPU is. The quality is way below PS4/XB1.
If it had been a PS4/XB1 equivalent in terms of power, I would have been interested in it. Used to love my NES and SNES, N64 and to some degree the Gamecube other than the latter two didn't support standard mediums when at the time the Playstation did.
These days I'll take Horizon Zero Dawn over Zelda any day.

Most games these days on PC uses Denuvo.
Take a look at Epic's Paragon, it does not have this problem. It comes down to artist skill, and very few are talented enough to make real-time characters not look like plastic.
I gained massive respect for her after she talked publicly about the working conditions at games studios -- in her case she was talking aboud ND and is still the same. So is most other triple A developers.
Of course everyone has a lot of passion, but when 80-90 hours become standard (with no overpay mind you) the last 6 months on a game it wears thin. I did not know the hours would be so bad when I became an artist. In my 20s it was fine, but it gets old and you see people ...
This quote below taken from the article is utter BS. Games like Battlefield 1 would not functionally work on the last generation of hardware (PS3, Xbox360) without scaling back game-play impacting features. Same goes for Batman Arkham Knight and many other games. For a game like Ori, sure, but there are plenty of games that would not scale well. Spoken from many years of experience working in the industry.
I think we will see another hardware reset with the PS5, XBX -- if ...
This is the only feature I like about the Switch. Hate to say it, but hope Sony and MS copies it.
Really not sure why Sony didn't do this with the PS4 Pro. I have a 1440p monitor, and I can definitely tell a difference when I run PC games in 1080p vs 1440p. My main reasons for getting an XB1X were I wanted games that are console exclusive (don't come out on PC) like when FFXV hadn't been announced for PC, Kingdom Hearts etc. as well as having an UHD Bluray player. I really like the PS4 Pro, but I don't think there's any denying that the XB1X is more powerful (I've ...
