* Rainbox 6 Siege?
* Days Gone has some pretty crazy physics, especially with the horde (I know you tend to think of physics as rigid objects, but the horde has physics), but it also has many other examples of great physics.
* Battlefield 1 (and V by the looks of it) -- plenty of meaningful destruction physics
* Uncharted 4 had plenty and Last of Us 2 looks to continue the trend (Last of us 1 wasn't bad in this area either)
* Ghosts of Tsushima in the b...
History works one way, THAT's why this is a relevant issue. That so many videogamers get upset when someone calls out sexism is incredibly disappointing.
Have an open mind and actually look at how women have been treated and are treated and then look at how it's not the same to show a shirtless man and a shirtless woman. Look at the facts about how many women are sexually abused compared to men. Shame on the lot of you,
You guys do realize that in order to take complete advantage of a new console, you can't just upgrade a PS4 title, right? For the launch PS5 titles to really impress, studios will have to develop for that hardware spec exclusively. That's why exclusives are a fair amount above the multi-platform games (though thankfully the XB1 and PS4 are relatively comparable in performance). If studios are doing titles that will release both on PS4 and PS5 it won't nearly show off what the PS5 ...
So what, now we are given two SKUs of the game with one having gameplay that is exclusive for the higher priced SKU? This isn't cosmetic or a couple of vehicles -- these are full blown side stories. The game is going to be huge, even the normal edition, but despite that this isn't a cool move on Rockstar's behalf. Imagine if Sony Santa Monica had pulled this stunt with God of War.
Profit isn't going to be an issue with this game. They're being overly gre...
Reason I dislike E3 leaks too. After leaks, publisher X gets accused of failing to reveal anything new because 1-2 weeks before there was a leak revealing that they game would be unveiled there.
Take Rage 2. That would have been an awesome E3 surprise. It was still an awesome surprise, but come E3 people are going to watch Bethesda's conference and when they see Rage 2 it's no longer an E3 reveal. Hopefully they have plenty of other surprises in store.
I'm with masterfox. Even though good games are released for the Switch, outside of first party titles it's really getting the bottom of the barrel compared to PS4/XB1
Things will change as soon as Sony shows what the PS5 will be capable of. Sony did a great job showing what the PS4 was capable of in its first showing, so what they'll show off with the PS5 is more than likely what we can truly expect from PS5 titles. Until then, people will be happy with what they have. They just don't know what developers can do yet with the PS5.
Personally knowing the technologies that the PS5 will enable, we are in for an incredible generation...
I wouldn't compare Nintendo's efforts with the switch to the task of making a portable PS4 that's profitable. The PS4 is still plenty more powerful than the Switch, and it wasn't designed with power consumption in mind. If they can make it happen, I think it would be great.
But I think your second idea is better, something I've wanted too; a line of Playstation phones and tablets that are powerful enough to do both gaming and everything else that we expe...
I think these views will change as soon as you can see what the next-gen graphics/gameplay will be like. You can't really even flex the pro's muscles properly because you are limited to the baseline. In 2-3 years the technology will be at a point where new consoles can introduce a whole host of new technologies that simply can't be done on today's consoles. As with every cycle, the PC will also jump a large step forward when this happens so every one wins.
Hth do you justify criticizing this game trailer for having a woman speak first? It's not about whether there were a lot of women soldiers during WW2, there's been so many stories told and other parts of the trailer (including her arm) is showing that this is their take in this version of their WW2 game. Just really don't get how that choice bothers you.
I've bought most COD games for the SP campaign. Really enjoyed the first BLOPS on current generation of consoles. Won't be buying this one. How many people are like me we'll find out come October.
Not so sure. It was very hard to get developers to invest in titles for it because at the time when 3DS was out the amount of hours/team you need to create a great Vita game cost a lot of money. Mobile gaming hurt it a bit as well IMO.
Nintendo was smart to market the Switch as a console and they almost treated it as a bonus that you could play it on the go. If they had pushed the portability more, they would have gotten a lot more flack for its short battery life. Personal...
Good points. We didn't learn anything new really but it looks great and to me it seems to have enough originality to be worth playing. I like the pros and cons of the decisions you make, so it doesn't become a side mission "clear out camps and the roads will be safer" in the example you used.
I like that the weather affects gameplay in a meaningful way too. If they have a lot of dynamic systems like these I think this game will stand apart from all other o...
After all the successes in the single player area in the last year I find this argument ridiculous. Plenty of big sellers coming soon too.
That was also confirmed in the Gameinformer interview/podcast.
Bad idea, forces developers to program to the lowest common denominator. This can have a huge impact on gameplay, not just visuals. A game designed to only run on PS4Pro or XBX1 would allow for gameplay that just can't run on a PS4 or XB1. That's an example, I think they were both good ideas for a mid-gen upgrade but to go that way into the future is a very bad idea.
Having worked on recent Call of Duty title, it's not laziness. I wish it did have a campaign. Even in three year cycles, COD campaigns take immense resources and demands an amazing amount of hours of their substantial team. I doubt they care about their employees (the studio I worked at didn't), but it most likely means they are doubling down on MP. By the sounds of things, there will be single player elements. Just not in the traditional COD sense.
So the headline says Action games have reached the Climax of realism, but then says it needs a revolution? Despite their experience and pedigree, I don't agree very much with their statements. Nier had great variety, but I found the game pretty boring visually, story-telling wise and the action nothing out of the ordinary.
Don't find anything useful in their statements. There's plenty of ways to innovate, I feel the gaming industry is still pretty young and onl...
Are people forgetting/not mentioning that Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was a one shot game?
Should be up to the developer. I'd rather take the extra horse power for graphics, physics, ai etc. for the extra 30fps. For games that need 60fps. developers will do 60fps just like they have this gen.
Don't make it a rule.
