And sadly like with most P.C. ports it **should** look multiple generations better --- but it won't. Other than either boosting resolution and/or fps the P.C. graphical differences are often so minuscule that an average (non-gamer) would be hard pressed to say something looks much better on P.C. (maybe different). Certainly, the average person would not see a fraction of the difference that the actual power differences SHOULD show. I am so annoyed with the fact that beyond boosting framer...

Doesn't change the fact that even with what was nearly a $1000 video card, most non-gaming/non-obsessive sorts can hardly see much difference between a game running on PS4 Pro vs. the MUCH beefier P.C. I'm getting annoyed with the lack of utilization of P.C. hardware beyond being able to crank up the framerate - nevermind fiddling with settings to maximize what I CAN do only to learn that I feel more and more like my selling of the PS4 and increased focus on my P.C. was my buying a &q...

Shocking just how close a PS4 game is looking on PS4 Pro when compared to the same game running on hardware that is enormously greater than the PS4 Pro... Currently I only own a beefy P.C. (no consoles for the time being) and while the optimization here is not so good, at all, this can be said about a lot of P.C. titles... At any-rate, if we go by teraflop performance (not counting my CPU), I have about SO MUCH more power than the the PS4 Pro (or One X for that matter) and I've got 32GB o...

The screenshots actually look close to PS3/360 era (Ratchet & Clank on the PS3 did look good though)...

Thank you for saying it!
A tremendous emphasis has been placed (over and over) on how a HOST of improvements have been made in matters all surrounding significantly greater ease of development and tremendously decreased development time requirements as a result of these technological “advances” that exist both due to hardware changes as well as software refinement. These improvements have been beat to death in next gen reveals and technological analysis discussions. If anything, deve...

Yes, I know what they are *actually* talking about. but had to joke: Hah! Does this mean they are abandoning Switch? I view it as an amazing mobile gaming platform with the added benefit of being able to easily connect to a television. Hey, it's either that, or inexcusably anemic hardware. ;-)

Guy IMMEDIATELY loses points when he says PS3 was weaker than 360... It ABSOLUTELY was NOT. It was RIDICULOUSLY challenging to develop/otpimize for in comparison, but it was the stronger console in terms of capability.

People should be able to say/believe whatever the heck they want as ABSOLUTELY DEPLORABLE/HORRIBLE/REPUGNANT as it may be... Who's to judge what belief/speech is deplorable, let alone police beliefs? Where does it start and end? In the end, a belief and or words are ONLY that -- until someone *acts* on them. Arguing that such speech/belief sows the seeds of action does not overcome the fact that the action is distinctly different and is not a line crossed by said speech/belief. It's n...

"Gaming is always better through a headset"... If you are talking about that only in relation to your setup, fair enough. Good sound systems can do so much more than even good headphones... My headphones are brilliant, but they will NEVER shake my room. When I can use headphones and literally feel the shockwaves in my body/sofa/walls of in game explosions/gunshots, I will realize that I'm not using headphones and I'm using my home-theater setup. A great home theater setup is...

I have little doubt SONY will deliver here, but to say that "Atmos will be forgotten" and/or more-so, that it "wasn't great anyways" is, to put it very gently, questionable. Atmos done right (and especially on UHD discs with good audio tracks) is astoundingly fantastic. I never want to go back to 2D sound if I have the option. Where gaming is concerned and licensing fees are a worry, SONY's option delivered the LPCM may be a brilliant option, but saying Atmos wasn&...

I love how Horizon comes to P.C. *YEARS* after its initial release and now people think Sony will put all their exclusives on P.C. for sure... Yep... Just shows how badly these people want Sony exclusives.

I have a beefy P.C. and have tried to stay on or close to the top of the P.C. heap since about the 980Ti launch (and played P.C. since mid 80s often at the high "enthusiast" end)... The fact is, that at this point, I am so disapointed with how relatively little ...

Speaking purely in reference to the event showcasing the hardware capability:
I felt like (and to an even greater extent, regarding what I will say, I felt the same relative to the Series X "gameplay" reveal) *much* -not "all"- of what was shown would have been minimally "wow" inducing even if the conference had been a "special end of gen./new PS4 releases" conference. If someone had told me a lot (again, not all) of what was shown was running ...

So many of the features of the next gen have been touted as providing huge efficiency gains (not just in perfromance, but in development)... Heavens, even raytracing in its current form may not always look dramatically different from the pre-baked effects that have been used, but it eliminates/decreases at least that one enormous development headache (place a light source and let the system take it from there). There are so many optimizations with the next gen. of hardware that almost elimina...

"hardly involve the player"

That said... I feel like graphic adventure/point & click could be a fantastic fit for room scale VR... To be able to walk around a "room" (scene from P & C adventure) pick up an item and have the same games told from 1st person (*potentially* switch to 3rd at opportune narrative moments -if needed-). I feel like VR is the format these adventure games could have been ideally suited for all along.

The headline is potentially misleading. In the article it is very clear that it won't matter *for them*. They are an indie developer with relatively conservative plans where graphics are concerned.

“Both consoles seem very powerful and way beyond the capabilities needed **for anything we will be making for the foreseeable future**!”
