As someone who is a long time COD fan and thinks COD 4 and MW2 are two of the great FPS games of all time, I have completely lost faith in this once ridiculously fun series smh.
Ghosts was by far the worst COD ever. It legit did everything wrong when it comes to making a good Call of Duty. Why they would release a sequel to the worst reviewed, worst selling COD I'll never know. Please release Modern warfare remastered!
Take Titanfall off this list. Hype aside no game with an 87 on metacritic and over 5 millon in sales can be considered a disappointment I'm sorry. Especially coupled with great gameplay and a fun multiplayer. Just because Titanfall wasn't a transcendent top 10 all time FPS doesn't make it a disappointing game. How can one of the 3 or 4 highest rated shooters this Gen be disappointing?
MGSV is a good substitute if you love attacking the outposts.
Would be nice but will NEVER happen. Xbox Live makes Microsoft the majority of there money in the Xbox Division.
Without Microtransactions and season passes game prices would jump to 80$ at least, probably more. I don't like these practices but at least in this form I get to choose how much money I want to spend on a game. The cost of game development has gotten far to big for the industry to keep up. Sorry its basic economics.
Don't forget to mention that the money is going to funding the Halo World Championship for E Sports. I probably shouldn't mention that though, doesn't fit the Microsoft are greedy and evil narrative that likes to float around these types of stories.
I keep seeing people say Horizon is a definite game of the year contender and just don't get it. Sure I think it will be a good game but what has it shown to "guaranteed game of the year!" What's guaranteed? Guerrilla doesn't have some sort of diamond record in the vain of a Naught Dog or Rockstar. People will always find something to bitch about and create "controversy". But the truth is the silent majority of the masses really don't give a crap.
Haven't tried H1Z1 myself. But i'm sure people would have a much different attitude about the quality of this game if it was still supposed to be a console PS4 exclusive. Im sure a lot of people would be singing its praises. Funny how a simple platform change can make perceptions so different.
Both Uncharted 4 and Dark Souls 3 could be game of the year material. Can't forget Quantum Break too!
Not a chance. Black Ops 3's campaign is dull and lacks and story cohesion or general reasons to care. Advanced Warfares campaign on the other hand was easily the best COD campaign since at least the first Black Ops. It had fun set pieces a good villain in Kevin Spacey, a far superior (more defined) future then BO3 and a better flow to its events. BO3's campaign is the worst in the series outside of Ghosts imo.
Halo 5 is underrated if anything.
Halo 5's multiplayer hasn't gotten the proper recognition it deserves. It's the best competitive multiplayer in years.
You realize theoretically Xbox could have superior games but still sell less. It all comes down to tastes and opinions at the end of the day but high sales and high quality do not always equate. If you ask me both consoles have there positives and negatives over one another. Two pretty equal values if you as me
I mean as a multi console owner its been great having PS4 beat Xbox One. It's forced Microsoft to step up its game in every department. Since Launch Xbox One has seen significant monthly updates, a great new UI, a new controller option, a pretty damn good lineup of exclusives and a stronger push towards gaming content in general. @Destiny1080 Your being sarcastic right? Halo 5 worked perfectly upon release. I know because I played it at midnight on release. (I'm sure you didn't, fyi your missing out). And how are you gonna use Drive Club, a game that actually was broken at launch, as an example for Sony. They delayed drive club and it was still broken smh. Have some basic objectivity.
Until dawn was a very good but not great game. I'd give it a solid 8.5/10. It had great choice driven gameplay, graphics, voice acting, and b movie horror cheese. Unfortunately the plot was a bit on the silly horror movie side then interesting at times and the ending was rushed and overall pretty weak. IT was a good game but for me a game has to be a truly great experience to be GOTY for me. Like a Bloodborne, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and MGSV!
Can someone say biased? Halo Ori and Gears are crap? The Gears of War series and Halo series are absolute classics, thats just disrespectful. Halo 5 is a better game then ANY PS4 exclusive outside of the fantastic Bloodborne. Best multiplayer of this gen so far bar none.
Their a lifeless husk of what they used to be. All this new Infinity Ward has on their record is Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer and Ghosts. I don't have much faith.....
