Not bad.
Not for me, but still interesting technology.
Is this available on Android devices?
Cool story.
Zeboyd did a fantastic job with Cthulhu Saves the World.
Silly, but awesome!
Trine 2 is unbelievably solid in gameplay and visuals. I love this game.
Awesome!
Uninstall ALL the things!
Funny article idea (and I'm glad to see someone is fighting back against those aggregating morons at Kotaku). It's definitely a good way to catch yourself up on who's who. You should do one of these every year or something!
I love all these Skyrim mods, this is why the PC inevitably wins out over all consoles.
I love how the devs spent years making it look amazing and then the modder went and de-made it, but his version does look exactly like those old games!
Of course :) It's certainly not a requirement (as noted in the article), but for builds of $800+, the HDD is going to be the largest bottleneck and one of the last that remains to be toppled.
Definitely - if you're in need of storage and can't spend $100 on an SSD purely for OS and highly utilized program optimization (i.e., OS + your favorite 2 or 3 games), then it's not worth it for you at the moment.
I'd also like to point out that the HDD prices are artificially inflated as a result of the flooding in Thailand, so those aren't exactly good deals at the moment either.
Agreed, the Internet will be one of the next big interface bottlenecks to topple (of course, many of the locations with FiOS / Fiber have seen massive speed improvements, but most of the world is still stuck on obsolete wiring).
Yep, as soon as manufacturing returns in full swing we'll be fine. The good thing here is that it encourages SSD growth, so something good may come out of it after all.
We're not talking about the PC as a console here, we're talking about it as an industry. Hardware component sales will be adversely affected by the flooding, although we predict SSDs to decline in price-per-GB over the course of the next year.
Of course the gaming market will be fine, but there's no question that the flooding will have a large impact on system builders (including consumer builders) and hard drive sales.
Great note! It definitely is a high-performing game. Good call on that one.
First of all, thanks for noticing us and coming back. We appreciate your patronage.
That said: the 6850 is unlockable to a 6870, it outperforms the 550 Ti, and will give you max settings on most games. Very few games will give this card a hard time -- BF3 is included in that list; you'd have to set (depending on CPU/memory) BF3 to around high with this card.
FatOldMan is correct -- many games do not utilize more than two cores at the moment, and the ones ...
Big surprise :P
