Portal 2? It's certainly a good game. It's a bit short, but the co-op was definitely the point of excellence for this one.
A good point - not a massive FF fan (I don't really like the genre, to be honest), but I do like some of the older music.
Interesting approach, though I'm surprised that *anyone* has problems with SWTOR graphics performance.
Agreed. As awesome as some of those jet videos are, they're infinitely cooler when it's actual gameplay. I love knowing that someone is laughing (or screaming) as a result of their death!
What kind of memory? CAS Latency is affected heavily by other architecture -- timings will decrease as bandwidth increases.
You're definitely right on that - even PCI-e 2.X ports have greater bandwidth than current cards are using. The 3.0 option is really just for fun to brag about, it doesn't really increase the price... but you're right, if it did increase the price, either stick with PCI-e 2.x or wait for the IB drop.
AMD is preferential for builds that are in the sub-$600 range, but the Intel i5-2500 series is unarguably better performing than similar X4s and FM1s.
I find it horrifying that anyone needs to have this topic explained to them.
I'd recommend something similar (as I mentioned in the OP).
C_Menz is right -- you can get an 80GB MLC SSD for ~$80 right now (with discounts, of course). It'll write about 2.5x faster than high-end HDDs and read infinitely faster.
The obvious disadvantage is space allowance, but as long as you can get by on 80-120GB until HDD prices return to normal, you'll be good to go!
It's not hypocrisy, it's a failing in the game rating system. 8/10 is considered "meh," unfortunately, whereas 6/10 and below should be "meh," with 5/10 being average.
I'm not a huge fan of Ep. 1, but I loved the pod racing concept.
I can't believe that only a few years ago, it was $100 for 4GB of memory... now it's $40 for 8GB.
DO WANT! This needs to come out on PC already :(
Hadn't heard of this one before now. Looks cool.
While I agree, your sensationalized "proof" is a bit strong. Evidence, perhaps. Use the scientific method, here, don't be a sensationalist.
I believe the "trollolololol" music is appropriate here...
I love that this is tagged as "call of duty 9." That number is much too large.
I don't know that your "less important than almost anything else" is necessarily true -- the gaming industry makes more than the movie and music industries combined.
I love these game cinematics. They'll replace Pixar, one day!
Not bad for a handheld device!
