Basically, if they really intended on bringing the same series to both platforms, it'd probably end up being two different games of the same series, if you know what I mean.

That way each caters to the needs and capabilities of each system.

You should probably wait till Xmas, I'd think the price cut would be closer to than if it indeed is coming (should be, after what they've been saying).

I agree -- quite a few friends of mine are looking forward to it more than any other game.

Well I definitely was not expecting that order.

What they wrote about FFXII was very true though. I'm glad they made it the way they did.

Hmm, a little disappointed by the lack of 80's metal. Of course not all tracks and whatnot have been announced yet, so hope is there.

Yeah, I expect those gamers to gain interest only once the price drops. And the commercials are quite weird, some are even 17+ and stuff...=X

Good responses. Bubbles for you.

The thing to consider here, as was pointed out, is that Team Ninja hasn't done a port in the past, they just max out the hardware for whatever they're working on.

The good news is that they will be working on both platforms, so regardless of which games, we can all expect good titles. I've never doubted their abilities, NG1 was their first action type game, and look how well it did.

I do agree with you. A lot of people can't really see the advantage of Blu-ray, which is why the price cannot be justified for many. Luckily the diode dropped in price rapidly. Hopefully there'll be a price cut eventually, before Xmas is a good idea.

I think, including games, which console you choose depends on what you want. If someone doesn't have interest in Blu-ray or any Sony titles, the price wouldn't be worth it for them. As far as casual gamers go I usually recommend t...

BioWare is very good with their games, so I expect some quality with this. Judging by their past games, it'll probably be PC and/or 360. Either way something to look to in the future.

I personally saw Blu-ray capabilities as being something that interested me when I made my initial purchase decision, because I was planning on using the format via Linux on the PS3 once I get a Blu-ray burner. (Big fan of anime, burning an entire 200ep series on one disc is very good for me.)

I think most people with PS3s are happy to have Blu-ray. Although it is of course contributing to the higher price

White Knight looks pretty good, but Mass Effect is going to be amazing.

Mass Effect is going to be a monster RPG. Definitely going to play this, looks very promising, and I don't doubt it.

If they were to put in the new force feedback, I would think it could be fairly light, hopefully integrateable with Sixaxis (but I think a game that supports both simultaneously could be difficult. Then again, even if it is one or the other per game that is fine.) Some games would be better with rumble, some (like Lair) would be reliant on Sixaxis.

Is there any indication that rumble will remove the Sixaxis control? I wouldn't think so, but I'm pretty interested in seeing what Sixaxis does in the future, so if there is a replacement program I'd probably just get 1 controller replaced (assuming the Sixaxis is removed).

I hope it's as light as it is now...

If you're ok with the PS2 controller, you're in luck. Personally, I switched from the Big Xbox 1 controllers to the Sixaxis, and I found the transition pretty easy. It's like the Dualshock, but lighter, and the buttons feel less clunky (slightly modified, fully analog). It's decent for shooters, I thought R:FOM was really good feeling. Although personally I think the 360 controllers and the Controller S on the original Xbox were probably the best for shooters, I really like the Sixaxis.

If they said any different, they'd be lying. Xbox Live is established, and solid. When it first came out on Xbox 1, I was amazed at how well integrated and just plain fun it was.

Sony will take their own approach with Home, hopefully turning it into a different experience, so that Xbox Live (as it already stands) and the PSN both become great services in different ways.

"Aside from playing the usual DVD and CDdisc formats, Sony's latest gift to the entertainment and gaming arena is the high-definition Blu-ray player."

I dunno, I just think it's kinda funny that they're telling people the PS3 plays Blu-ray. I think people would know by now...?

LOL -- clearly someone didn't know. --v

I don't mean this negatively. I just pointed it out as being something people generally know about when making a purchase de...

HD movie download is no where near as popular as disc formats at the moment, so as of right now there is nothing to back this up.

It is however possible. Also, the stated "decision" for choosing HD DVD was pretty bad, if you read the article.

Hopefully they offer some kind of trade in for original controllers. If not, I'll probably have to pass...need to spend that money on games.

"The report also reveals that for the third quarter running, total HD category sales are higher than non-HD models, representing over two-thirds of total spending, with a year-on-year increase in HD sales of over 80%."

If this is accurate, then I guess the market for HD in general is getting very good over there.
