@above: then that makes us terrible, terrible people. xD
Haha yeah, who wasn't expecting them to show?
"then you are only a fanboy."
Not really, this shouldn't have anything to do with 360/PS3 unless someone makes it that way. Other than this I agree.
"HD DVD FTW!!"
*laughs* But you're entitled to your opinion. Although I don't see how one user wanting to buy an HD DVD player really makes a difference to anyone. I'm tipping my hat to Blu-ray and digital distribution (in later years).
Toshiba can't control which studios support them.
...Not sure why someone disagreed with you, you're simply stating that you're almost finalized on a purchase decision. I just don't get it sometimes...
Mart does have a point. Regardless of that however, sales for BD movies are still higher than HD DVD, so whether it is PS3 owners or just people with Blu-ray players, people are still buying Blu-ray. HD DVD has some strong points but I think its lack of exclusivity is its biggest pitfall, yet on the contrary, its exclusivity with Universal is to its advantage.
Funny how people disagree, but the fact is, HD DVD isn't doing too well. Could change in the future.
Haze was announced on all platforms. Then, it was announced as timed (as it is). Some idiots just assumed that this meant it was a PS3 exclusive and went around saying that. Surely enough, this wasn't true, and it was re-confirmed as timed.
(REGARDING HAZE)@above: no it's not, it's timed. it's on ps3, 360 and pc.
You'd be an idiot to disagree. The game is coming to all platforms, just watch the latest Free Radical interviews. Fanboys, ignorant as hell.
Free Radical basically says the game is lead on the PS3, and is making an appearance on the 360 and PC next year, with unclear release dates. That is the only truth.
"instead of creating games for the 360's lower level hardware and...
Nothing. I only got off track because you did. And this article doesn't really bother me, you seem to hate it though. I wouldn't have called you out on it had you not replied in 10.2
Ah but you see, a post like this is irrelevant and usually not a good way to get bubbles!
It's more appropriate to say that it is losing, "dead" implies that it has no chance, but as of now it has some chance. Whether that chance is great or little is up to an individual to decide, whereas most biased people will have an extreme view on it either being dead, totally catching up to BD, or of course the other digital distribution will kill both outlook.
"Blind hatred is the worst, because you miss out on so much."
Unfortunately most of the negative comments about Live AND PSN are from blind hate. Most negativity comes from those who've never tried the service they are bashing.
The truth is: Live is "better," as of now, but PSN is pretty decent and catching up, albeit slowly. Servers are hosted by the developers (in the case of Resistance) so lag is very minor. Hell, I've never lagged. I'll sa...
Gears was a monster boost -- everyone I know with a 360 bought it around that time. Hell, I'd've got one if I had money.
Well it's only $5 cheaper, nothing remarkable for a special edition price difference. If you have HD DVD then it's a good deal.
You're arguing for something you do not even know yourself...
The PS3 clearly states the following: BD, BD-ROM, BD-RW, etc. It's Blu-ray Disc. Just like Compact Disc (CD). How hard is that to understand, and why are you making such a big deal out of it?
And I didn't really consider whether you asked for an opinion. All I'm saying is that Universal's exclusivity is still a bonus for HD DVD, but I myself don't see it as enough to go out of my way to get an HD DVD p...
It's ok -- it has some AI and bug issues. I think the problem is, when you hype a game as the Halo killer, you will fail. Because you can't kill Halo, it's a monster.
So far KZ2 I haven't seen many pitting KZ2 against Halo 3, and I hope it stays that way, although comparisons are inevitable...*shrugs*
Yeah it's annoying when they say "a PC." Because "a PC" could range anywhere from a piece of crap from '95 to an average PC for about $1000 to a monster AlienWare or gaming unit.
BR is nothing, it's BD. And yes, this isn't really relevant to consoles. But you decided to comment on it anyway and I'm simply agreeing with you. Is there a problem with that?
Exactly, and that's the problem. Getting exclusivity at this point seems almost unreachable, if that weren't the case, I don't think BD would be doing as well as it is.
