@warfed: blurriness is likely due to ghosting, a problem MOST LCD TVs have. Trust me man, even my 1080p LCD has ghosting problems. Gives games a blurry look sometimes. Not too bad on 720p/1080p, but 1080i is horrendous.
@rockstar: stick w/ 720p of course, the interlacing is so horrible. if you're on HDMI try enabling super white for brightness, sure as hell made my games look better.
I'd go with Vegas.
It's like $9CAN for me. I ain't buying this, as much as I like the game, I donno if it's worth it for me. I don't even play online that often.
"not HD and are highly pixelated. and not anti aliased."
I knew they weren't in HD, but just hearing that it's pixelated is already annoying me. Oh well, hopefully the added in game scenes will make up for this.
...Do they? Oh, and damn you for already having the game! xD
@below: Man...it sounds like the in games are pretty good then. PSN is Sathanas. Speaking of FolksSoul/Folklore, I got the demo, and even though I understood nothing, t...
Probably agree here too -- Mass Effect interests me slightly more than Halo 3 at this point. Bioshock is another goodie, but I think Mass takes the cake.
Everyone knows this, the people posting the negative stuff are just trying to piss others off. Continually pointing this out won't stop em, man! But I'm sure you already knew that.
I hope the v-lock sync issues in the demo are not present in the game though. (If you ever noticed what seemed to be a "judder" somewhere on the screen when moving around, that would be what I'm talking about.) The demo had a smooth frame rate though -- expecting the same for the game.
"The story doesn't make much sense"
Seriously, there's so much crap in the story that makes you go "WTF?," I hope they at least flushed it out to something reasonable. Reading all those damn books in the original game is not a great way of unfolding the story line, especially since they had no flow whatsoever.
As a long time fan of the series, I can honestly say that the graphics are pretty good looking, but not notably exceptional. They're polished and whatnot, and self shadowing is somewhat evident, but the textures and some character/enemy skins just don't have much more depth than the original did. Having said that, the overall visuals of the game are very noticeably redone, but I think 8 is a fair rating for graphics.
If you had a hard time on Black, then you may find this slightly easier. Though not by much, the difficulty is slightly more geared towards the original game (at least this is what the reviewer says).
But if you ask me the tweaked combat system takes a little getting used to, so I personally don't think it'll be noticeably easier.
I'm pretty hard on games, most of the Xbox games I owned were in the high 9's. That is 9.5+.
Of course the way king of ps3 made it seem was as though he wasn't impressed with the review. I think they judged the game fairly -- very good, exceptional in some areas, but NOT mindblowing.
I call a score like Halo 2's or GTA III's "mindblowing," whether I agree with those scores or not, that is what I consider to be very good. I realize many are far less hars...
"Seems they may go HD DVD only."
I heavily doubt that man. Think about the sales they'd lose.
Jealousy is a terrible thing. Fortunately I'm not a jacka$s like yourself, and I am speaking my mind (not sure what makes you think otherwise, clearly you've not read my other comments which typically rile up sony/MS fanboys). In my opinion 9.3 is decent, not amazing, decent. I realize many would have different views. Regardless I'm still picking up this game.
You can do/say/think as you wish, I'm not here to change what you think. But being a sh!thead won't do you much good.
Uh, I'm getting it too, but I'd say 9.3 is a decent score? Not amazing, but decent.
There's a FolkSoul demo on the Japanese PSN?! Thanks for the heads up, going to download.
Can't tell much about graphics, but the decals and physics seem pretty good.
Well yeah we knew it was a shooter, regardless it still looks awesome.
Check out the related "iWaiting" photo gallery. More crazy iPhone campers.
Not going to get into this argument BUT I will point out a glaring error:
"Blu-ray - HDDVD"
MS has NOTHING to do with HD DVD, other than that they made an add on for the 360. So don't use that for your argument.
btw - I didn't disagree with either of you, just thought this should be corrected.
