metacritic should just take down userscores, this is going to continue forever. with this constant deflation of user scores, no one will look at them seriously,and if no one is going to look at them, they are useless. if they are useless they should be removed.
i see any evidence that the author of this blog actually has played socom, or even owns a ps3. he just states the problems with the game that people have been mentioning since day1, and praises xbox live. i smell fanboy... and even if it is legit, i dont think people will stop buying socom, if for the headset alone. i mean, look at wiiplay, which was the best selling game for wii game for a long time, and people were only buying it for the wiimote. for only a little more they got a crapp...
i completely disagree. gears and resistance seem to be on the same lever is almost every respect. they both appeal to the same crowds, emphasize multiplayer, and have cult followings, which, by your tone, i assume you are a part of. both seemed to be getting and are projected to get similar professional ratings and reviews. the main difference between the two imo, is the fact that gears is playing off of its already large fanbase and is giving you more of the same, and resistance is reinv...
disagreed. things are tight now with the tough economy, but i still think ps3 has a bright future. as many have pointed out before, with the tough econ, the life cycle of this generation of consoles is going to be around for a long time. as long as bluray sticks around, and it is indicated that it will, ps3 will hang in there. Also, with an eventual price cut, ps3 could definitely see the same success as the ps2 and dvds. with an extended life cycle and bluray to back it up, i think that...
everyone here should just chill out. i, too, was skeptical at first when i saw a headline reading "sony shares drop xxx points" and saw that the source material was from an xbox fansite. i was sure it was just fanboy bait. however, if you take the time to actually look at it, his argument seems pretty authentic, hes not making up the numbers. imo, he should be commended for posting LEGITIMATE news, rather than fanboy gossip. i am pulling for sony just as much as the next guy wi...
cmon, man, this guy posted some LEGITIMATE news for once, even if it was posted on an xbox site. the facts seem solid and he obviously knows what hes talking about. keep it professional like him, or at least civil.
i went into gs today to reserve my copy of fallout, and they said that preorders go out tomorrow, but non-reservees have to wait til monday.
stock losses mean nothing at this point; everyones stock is plummeting be it sony, ms, toyota, honda, gm, and major banks. thats what happens when the economy is in a recession, people. this drop in stocks means nothing at the moment, christmas season is coming up, and that is when the majority of companies go from the red to the profit margin. this is not really news, just people pointing out the byproducts of a failing world economy.
on a side note, a lot of people are sayin...
im going to disagree to an extent about using glitches competitively. my main case in point is smash brothers melee. l-cancelling and wavedashing are just two major examples of the tens to maybe a hundred "glitches" in that game that have been embraced as a part of the game and a necessary component to competitive play. nintendo "fixed" these glitches in smash brothers brawl, but to many loyal fans' disappointment. the lack of these "glitches" or advanced tec...
you reek of fanboyism. firstly, bioshock was far superior to the xbox version. the only reason people criticize it is because it wasnt groundbreakingly better than the xbox/pc version. it still ran smoother and had much better textures, so your comment is completely moot. if you are planning to respond to this PLEASE do so in an intelligent and civil manner.
fair enough.
i never said the ps3 was ahead, just that the gap is closing. but i totally agree, weve been waiting for sony to do something for a while now, but they are definitely fighting an uphill battle.
i think it is unfair to say that NO ONE will be swayed by user reviews. granted i agree that the majority of everyone looks at professional reviews but there are some people out there who do take user reviews into account when basing their decision to buy. to assume that everyone is going to disregard user reviews would trivialize their existence all together. if everyone believes that user reviews do not actually mean anything, no one would go out of their way to deflate a games score, wh...
his arguments seem fine to me. granted, they may be a bit off topic, but they are clearly stated and supported. firstly, i dont think anyone is trying to dispute that 360 attach rate is higher than ps3. however, if you actually look at the graphs, they show that the disparity between the two systems is closing. finally, the arguments morgan posts about deflation of scores really is a big deal, and does show that there is a fairly large userbase(who obviously have not played and probably w...
now, im not a fanboy, and im trying to be civilized here, but i think you should check the graphs and figures again. yes, 360 is ahead; but i really think your only taking the information that you want to see out of the graph. a year ago when there was like, 4 xbox's to 1 ps3, yes the attach ratio proved to be very significant. however, now that there is maybe 1 ps3 to 2 xbox's, or maybe 2 ps3s to 3 xboxs, the figures show that the disparity between the two systems is shrinking. added to ...
just wanted to point out that abolishing piracy would not necessarily bring down the prices of games. more than likely it would just add to the profit margin for game companies. theres no reason for them to charge less than they already are, especially because people are paying up.
this article is not the fanboy feed that the xbox fanboys are looking for.
if you look at the figures, it just states that xbox is up to 8.1 games per every xbox owned, up from 6.98 last year it says. that is an increase for 1.1 games, roughly. playstation is up from 4.23 to 5.3 games, again, up 1.1 games, roughly.
if anything, it actually is showing the decrease in xbox dominance, as the ratio between the two systems is decreasing (not taking into account the ...
you are right, i eat my words. i guess i just got a little heated over the idea that someone would fabricate quoting a review that is really too small to read. ill edit out my snide remarks from my op. cheers.
btw, i didnt see this quote
PSM3 Reviews Fallout 3: 90% "The PS3 version compares poorly to its Xbox and PC counterparts"
anywhere in the article, and i combed over it with a magnifying glass. i honestly dont believe that a playstation based magazine would ever print those words, so im assuming you made that quote up. someone cite it, or well all assume its fabricated.
btw, i jsut read this:
xboxmag reviews fallout 3: "the ...
@1.5
i dont think you should cancel your order, show your support for sony, the more ps3 buyers, the more titles come to and lead for ps3.
@1.6
im not gonna argue with you, but its obvious that there is a pretty strong lineup coming up for ps3, more so than xbox. and you claim that youll "enjoy all your great titles" when all the good ones are multiplat anyways. exclusives are the real breadwinners and it looks like bigger ones are coming up...
metacritic should just do away with user reviews. this will continue forever, and no one will take the user reviews seriously. if no one takes the reviews seriously, they have no purpose, and should be removed because right now, they are just serving as an outlet for cranky fanboys to lash out.
