lol exactly same thing with me
wow this demo was sick. mirrors edge wasnt even on my list of games to get this year, but im definitely going to hafta put it on, almost considering postponing r2 for this one, the demo was so fun. i should wait to see what the reviewers say, but the gameplay was phenomenal.
on a side note, the environments didnt look exactly stunning to me, but i did think the character models were quite good. i liked the bright lighting, and the soundtrack and gameplay really got me; i have...
this game is going to sell fine, mostly for the bluetooth, im guessing. but still, i think there are a lot of people that are going to buy, if not now, then later. i know i am, for the bluetooth, of course. but i AM going to wait til after xmas, theyll have all the bugs/lag ironed out, and ill be done playing better games. xD
but seriously, how did this article get approved? cnet isnt news. in fact, its probably less credible than the average blog.
yawn.
ign's points seem pretty legit. video files, hd in perticular, are all huge, and it doesnt seem logical to for anyone to be able to stream them on a regular cable/dsl connection, without a long wait to buffer. unless they have some kind of amazing compression tech, the easiest fix would be to downsize the resolution to make it a smaller file. not everyone has a 100mbps dedicated internet line to stream videos.
interesting
my questions about the "e" in nxe were legitimate. i see the usefulness of this update, but its odd that they didnt mention it in the video, if that is the important part.
amen.
disagreed. multiplatform games are programmed with both systems in mind, so they dont utilize the full potential of either of the systems. a real signifier of the power of a console are first party exclusives, and if you look at the lineup of each system, its pretty clear that ps3 has more horsies under the hood. i mean, its not like ps3 CANT run gears, its just that it wont be licensed to them. there ARE questions however if an xbox would be able to run mgs4, kz2 or heavy rain. most wou...
well in all fairness, ign did say that assassins creed ranked among the biggest letdowns in gaming history. i do think many other reviewers just gave assassins creed good scores based on how bit the scope of the game was, rather than the actual game itself.
"experience"
now dont get me wrong, im not ragging, but just looks like a graphical upgrade to the old UI. wheres the "experience" in NXE. other than netflix, is it just the vista aero for xbox?
serious question.
this was written 4 weeks ago. probably an old beta build; i did not experience any of these problems. get back under the bridge
i did not experience any of these problems when i played the beta. the wraith did not seem unbalanced at all, in fact, there was hardly anyone using it. graphically i didnt run into any glitches either, it ran smoothly. i did however, find the water effects to be a little ridiculous. the 60player multi was definitely a blast, i dont know what this guys talking about. and he also wasnt playing the skirmish mode, which actually highlights objectives, because he was complaining about lack o...
this is quite late, as i havent checked this thread, but to defend my point, it doesnt make sense, because due to lack of space on dvd9s xboxs dont have the option to do partial installs when the games get to be HUGE like 30-40gigs. playing off the hard drive isnt viable because youd hafta install as if it were a pc, and that takes up a lot more room, room that console users do not have on their hard drives.
i dont see why gt posting this song is going to anger ps3 users. this is actually a pretty entertaining song, and it did seem like they were honestly just putting it out there, not making it a point to piss anyone off.
edit:: just realized that they used it for the review, which i CAN see pissing people off. lol. but the kotaku link seemed pretty harmless
entertaining read.
im going to have to disagree. the majority of people i know, and i wager a guess that they represent a pretty accurate demographic, really enjoy having a hard copy of movies. i, personally dont mind having a digital copy on hand, but i just think that there is a significant amount of consumers out there who prefer to own hard copies of movies over digital, so many, that i dont think disks will ever go obsolete. i mean weve had on demand and pay per view for years now, but people still go t...
serious question: are they going to stream real hd, or just like 480p, which is "technically" hd. because, and im no whiz with compression tech, but i DO know that a 44min episode of any show in avi format, minus commercials, is upwards of 1gb in 720p. and probably twice that for 1080p. i am having a hard time figuring out how they are going to effectively stream the hd videos, especially 3 hour long movies. even if the video is compressed, it would seem VERY difficult to stream ...
lol who the hell is crispy gamer. whaaaack.
hm, did they change the review recently? kuz i remember those exact words of the original review when i read it last night. either way he said that it wasnt gamebreaking so whatever. fanboys can go fight it out while i play.
cover systems only work for tps in multiplayer, because tps's give players like, 270 degree viewing angle, and ability to see OVER and AROUND objects they are hiding behind. one of the reasons im not a fan of multiplayer tps, its just too easy to see people coming at you while you hide.
i think the decision to take it out was a good one, cover in fps just gives you the disadvantage because it reduces vision and forces you to stick to a wall, making it much more difficult to see ...
