they are already losing money on each ps3 sold, and the gains are only hypothetical if they cut price, because they cannot say for sure that they will sell more hardware, and in turn sell more software. its too risky at this time when the economy is down.
plus they are selling fine right now, and will continue to sell as bluray continues to boom.

agreed with some of your comments, though. i do disagree that its the wii that is hampering ps3 growth, rather, japanese people are far more interested in portable gaming, their lifestyle simply caters more to portables. this explains the strong sales for dsi's and psp's, and relatively low sales for in home consoles.
regardless of whether or not the xbox has an hdd, the main point of the argument and the relevance to the article is that you are NOT going to save enough money on buying an xbox, albeit the $200 arcade version, to buy an hdtv. i just include the stripped down arcade version because that is going to save you the most money, and the amount of money you are saving is the thing in question.
im not trying to argue that the ps3 is cheaper than an xbox, its pretty obvious that it isnt...

i completely disagree i felt that the demo was excellent. in the past they have not been able to make a good platformer in first person, but i feel that this game does an excellent job. again, they are not just rehashing the PoP 3rd person platformer genre, they are attempting something new, and i feel that they do an excellent job.
