entertaining article.
personally i think the idea of crazed hobos is ingenious, despite the fact that it ostracizes the homeless. well, they are already socially ostracized, but a game villainizing them would just make matters worse.
interesting question posed by the source.
i like the ideas in this article. i personally feel that art should take a slightly larger portion of the pie than product, and great games usually have art>product. not always the case, however.
i feel gears exemplifies a game that is heavily product; its made to appeal to as many people as possible, but doesnt really have any expression or innovation. but despite its obvious appeals to gamers' primitive natures, its v...
hd is only a marginal increase compared to standard def?
i see where you are coming from, but i think you are underestimating the difference between sd and hd, and i think that that IS the main pull for bluray
regardless, many people have pointed out that in its time frame, bluray is doing a lot better than dvd was during the same time frame; when hd becomes the standard, bluray will soar. likewise, people were throwing out their vhs collections when dvds became sta...
couldnt disagree more
bluray is here to stay. digital distribution and netflix wont hold a candle to it. and before i start sounding like a fanboy, let me reason:
people like to have hard copies of movies. they like to have something tangible if they are going to spend money on something. people nowadays have huge dvd collections, rather than just downloading movies from the internet.
mp3s and ipods may be dominating cds but not because it is the p...
not another one of these articles...
::rolls eyes::
plus in fallout xbox got dlc, which would probably be more important than the graphical differences. in this case, ps3 is getting dlc. dlc in my opinion is more of a tipping factor than the slight differences in graphics.
lol
classic n4g post.
i suspect its becomes ps3 had a huge launch week last week, gta4 + lbp, and 360 has this "value pack" whatever that is this week.
you are bogus, buddy.
you constantly claim "screen tearing and no AA!" but in actuality, the AA is almost negligible, and the majority of gamers dont even know what screen tearing is, let alone notice it in the actual game. these differences dont have any bearing on gamers because although they are "proven technical advantages" no one notices the differences unless they are looking for it.
plus, you base all your facts on an analysis of the demo...
you made this claim in another thread, and have yet to answer my reply
you are basing ALL of your information on screenshots and videos from the DEMOS of each of these games. your whole rant about the Digital Foundry frame analyzer was analyzing the demos. i said it before, and i ask again, where is the proof of these differences in the FINAL builds? demos can be put out at different stages of development, and do not represent the final build. there has been no formal compari...
oops
obviously i misread you, and for that i apologize. i did buy the game earlier today, put a decent amount of time into it, and found it enjoyable.
i still disagree that the idea of platforming in first person is a horrible idea, it just has yet to be performed well until, arguably, now. if this game were to come out in a third person perspective, i feel that many people would just write it off as another prince of persia clone. had the game been in 3rd person,...
the difference being, in the past 360 has lead and it has resulted in a drop in ps3 ports' performances. the ps3 has lead on this one, and many think that it shows, including the ign reviewer.
if you could cite something other than eurogamer that argues that the 360 version runs better, please do. i dont think very many people trust ps3 vs xbox comparisons on eurogamer. also, they did compare the two demos, rather than finished builds of the game, and that does not really dese...
ign made the mistake? lol. it does so happen to be the largest and most trusted gaming site on the internet, but i mean, good thing you went ahead and showed everyone that they dont know what they are talking about. /sarcasm
but in all seriousness, the AA issue has been addressed, and though the xbox version has minimal AA and ps3 does not, there are other graphical minor graphical differences that separate the two. what does your video prove, other than the minimal 2xAA? odd...
i mentioned this before, but those figures were taken from the demo of the game, and although the demo so happens to be the prologue of the actual game, theres really no point in comparing the two, because no one knows at what stage of development these demos were developed. until they come out with a comparison between final builds of the game, i say that your claims are moot.
i honestly dont know why you are getting so worked up over this. do you have both systems? probably ...
whoa whoa whoa....
hold on there. first of all, although everyone is entitled to their opinion, you should check your facts. i just bought the game and played for the last 3 hours and i find it incredibly enjoyable, albeit a bit frustrating. however, it has had almost all positive reviews, sans ign, which didnt say it was a BAD game, just a decent game due to poor execution.
and although some might argue that the execution of the game is flawed, you claim that the...
i disagree about some of your points
first of all, im not really going to go into what version better, but the source material claims that they think the ps3 version if superior graphically, if you go to the actual article. secondly, they said that its only minor differences, so even if one was superior to the other, graphics should not be the selling point between the two versions.
more importantly when chosing the xbox vs ps3 version, in my opinion, is which contr...
those comparisons were made based on the demo. the demo is in no way a medium to judge which version performs better. i also suspect that the ps3 version of the demo is an earlier build, because it gets ported over to 360, just like the full game.
on top of that, now that all the reviews are out, i have paged through them and have seen no one say a word about the 360 version runnning better. if you can find me a review that analysis that, i might reconsider, but until then, s...
ok now i have argued before in favor of ps3s being the better deal in the long run, if you take in account everything you get.
but to argue that the 360 is not cheaper is stupid, in my opinion. i support sony, and i feel that ps3s are great, but lets look at this objectively:
not everyone is going to need EVERYTHING a ps3 offers. not everyone wants a bluray player with their console. not everyone needs wifi built in. not everyone needs free online. if you are go...
i completely disagree. first of all, sites ARE all run by fanboys. no one is impartial to either gaming system, so quiet down. its obvious that sites are not bipartisan when it comes to reviews and console coverage. now im not saying that ms paid anyone off, but to turn a blind eye to obvious biases in the industry is just being plain ignorant.
secondly, i do not believe these numbers one bit. i know gears is a big franchise, but theres not way its THAT big. to sell as ma...
lol fanboys,
that would be an awesome shooter. or wrestling game. or lemmings remake. lol but the drawback would be that they are bound to kill or incapacitate you at least a few times throughout the course of the game, and that would piss a lot of people off.
still would feel nice to blast a few of the losers on this site, lol.
