The more money we pump into this crap the more commerically viable it will become for developers and the games industry. If you want to see games become something to truly take seriously, you shouldn't promote this stuff.
Probably too late. They've clearly already got an actor for Big Boss. Unless Snake shows up in the game there's not much point to this.
Woah it looks so good in daytime!!
Ah goddamnit... was looking forward to Yadonoki tower so much... Why WOULDN'T they include it? Surely it wouldn't push a release date back THAT much?
I'm afraid to say I'd buy it if it was DLC in case SE see this and decide to make it DLC hehe... but I think I probably would. Goddamnit SE. Please just include it.
Just so long as the new guy's voice isn't really generic and action movie star-like. David Hayter made the character so unique.
I like how this game has zero pretense to seriousness. It's kind of like a gigantic satire of videogames in general, which videogames certainly had coming.
Chrono Cross is a direct sequel to Chrono Trigger, not a "semi-sequel", I mean have you played it? Also it's unbelievably awesome. They're both incredible games that have yet to be topped.
I don't really think Bioshock can win against any of the best RPGs, it is a shooter at heart. It shows in it's shooting gameplay- which kind of seems to spoil the story a bit.
There's a difference between being influenced by something and plagiarism. In the best case, people use something seminal as a spring board to new things (shoulders of giants and all that), while in the worst case, people just cluster around seminal things like flies to shit, and render it completely stale.
I don't think Bioshock plagiarised or was influenced by Chrono Trigger though.
If I had to choose between the three Bioshock games so far and Chrono Trigger, I'd pick Chrono Trigger every time. The game is perfect.
I don't think Bioshock drew any influence from Chrono Trigger, but I suppose it may have drew influence from things which drew influence from Chrono Trigger hehe.
Also worth mentioning that there's an underwater city-ish thing in CT too- the Ocean Palace.
I agree, but I can't help but feel he's lost a little bit of credibility giving MGS film rights to crappy American directors...
So Ground Zeroes IS the Phantom Pain? Ack, that's sort of annoying isn't it? I was hoping that GZ and PP would be two separate games leading up to an eventual MGSV, or that GZ would be a prequel to MGSV The Phantom Pain. I suppose the latter would've stole GZ's thunder though, so it's probably best that didn't happen...
Still, it looks amazing nonetheless. Terrible choice of music though.
Read some damn books if you want to know about 19th century America. This game is the equivalent of an action blockbuster film. It treats it's themes very broadly. Don't be under the illusion that this game is some sort of in depth scholarly study. Sure it makes pretenses to being deep and high brow, but it's got a long way to go. You can still electrify people with your hands, and are still pursued by a giant mechanical bird.
Still, I think it probably makes som...
Yeah it looks great. But when are we going to get a beuatiful open world like this in which we can't wreck everything and kill everyone. Why does "open world" necessarily have to mean those things.
All I'm interested in is exploring and seeing the sights. I'd like a game with loads of vehicles and modes of transportation like this, and the freedom of movement like Assassin's Creed. They could build gameplay and a story around something like that whic...
It's not flame bait. The guy makes a lot of good points and has joined in on the comments section. He's an intelligent guy. Just deal with it. The majority just can't handle people being at odds with their opinions. Your opinions aren't universal, you need to learn this. Just because a lot of people like a game doesn't mean it's universally good.
If you like it, just go on liking it. If someone else doesn't like it, with good reasons for not liking...
Honestly I'd be okay with that. Most games suffer in the single player department because of the online multiplayer component. What needs to be reintroduced is splitscreen offline multiplayer. I mean obviously CoD has it, but there are so many games that just forgo it and it's really annoying. I was going to buy Farcry 3 until I realised it didn't have offline splitscreen multiplayer.
Why do you care so much? Consumerism gone mad.
Universally good or "majority rule" good? They're not the same thing. Another word often associated with the "majority" is often the "vulgar masses".
Just because a lot of people like something doesn't make it universally good. In fact it probably points to a really homogenous culture who've been "told" things are good, but deprived of any perspective beyond the one directed to the spoon that feeds them.
At the end of the day GribbleGrunger, you should just read the review. He makes good points. Quite often, a person is deemed a "hater" by mob rule, not any reasoned debate. Of course there are genuine reactionary haters who don't know what they're talking about, but this guy ain't one of them.
Just because a game predominantly receives high scores doesn't mean some people aren't going to take issue with it. In fact, I'm pretty sure there are ...
Yeah it's not a low score. I'd actually say it's a more reasonable score than these manic, hysterical 9s and 9.5s. The review makes a LOT of really good points. The guy emphasises that he likes the game a lot, but he highlights lots of really crucial issues, some of which could extend to games in general.
These are the kinds of reviews we need to push the games industry forward. You can't just blindly heap praise on a game because of all the cool gadgets and ...
I hope it's just one game. Ground Zeroes being the name of the prologue chapter in the game or something. Like Liquid Sun, Twin Suns etc. in MGS4.
Or even if it was a separate disc that came with the game, as opposed to a separate game altogether. That seems silly though...
