Definitely has potential, but it seems sort of limited. I mean the action on screen is going to be comprised of a lot of different colours in most cases.
Point being, "blue for underwater parts" seems sort of simplistic. So what, Every underwater part I'll be playing will be the same blue? If the controller could detect multiple colours on screen and reproduce them in the light, thus making the room reflect the actual colours on screen, that'd be awesome and...
"Phantoms" is absolutely beautiful too. It's been too long since I've heard anything new from Junya Nakano.
Some other faves of mine: "Travel Agency", "Spira Unplugged", "Thunder Plains", "To The End of the Abyss", "Final Battle", "Assault", "Macalania Woods", "Blitz-Off", "The Splendid Performance", "Movement in Green", "Challenge", "This is Yo...
Not enough love for X-2 but a tantalizing trailer nonetheless.
They haven't revealed any images from X-2 or anything so I presume they still have a bit more work to do on it.
Ah I see. I actually haven't played the 3rd Birthday, but I'll take your word for it.
In fairness, we shouldn't we joke about rape, it contributes to an overall cultural trivialization of the subject. As if people, in their fear of it as a reality to be dealt with, decide instead to joke about it- to "pad" it with humour. Humour as a distancing tool.
I know this is just one instance, but #1. He's an authoritative voice in the videogames industry and #2. People make these kinds of tasteless jokes all the time; it's hard to attack everyone...
Emulated, the game wouldn't nearly be as stable as this will be. Plus, you need a monster PC to actually emulate ps2 games, which a lot of people, myself included, don't have.
And yeah, people make good points about the polish and texture revamping this is getting, so for me it's either shell out over a grand for a PC that can emulate Ps2 games, or pay like 20-25 for the game. HMMMMMMM.
I think this game just cultivates hatred and wanting to dominate other people, as well as winning rather than having fun.
"For those who disagree with my assessment of Toriyama i only have to say one thing. The 3rd Birthday....he wrote the story for that game & is the sole reason he nearly killed the legacy of that series."
Weellll, the Parasite Eve games weren't really that good in the first place... let's get real.
2 was decent I suppose but the first game was a mess. I mean the battle system was full on just broken. I played those games for the atmospher...
Honestly the idea of replaying any Crash or Spyro game excites me much more than this game, it looks really so-so if you ask me.
It just seems to me to lack a coherent vision, and wants to be a disney-pixar film, which is just boring to me. I know on the surface it seems original (purely because of the protagonist) but something about it whiffs of unoriginality to me. I think it's the overall aesthetic.
Nah, if I get a Ps4 I'm pretty sure I'll giv...
Are they not just loads of braids tied back??
Oh I know all about it. But you don't actually see the bulge in the game do you? That'd be pretty ballsy of Square Enix... (or dick-sy)
Is that actually official art? You don't actually see a bulge in Nier do you?
Also I imagine El Shaddai will be featured on this at some point. Playing it right now. Great music and trippy visuals.
Looks terrific. My only concern is that the Dead Dunes area looks enormous and the game does have a time limit. Presumably the other two areas are big too, not to mention Luxerion.
The time thing could make or break this game. I hope they implement it sensibly, since they're obviously not going to go back on it at this point. I want to explore this world, I don't want to be forced to rush through it.
Still, I am genuinely excited for this game now. ...
I know, it's such a non-point.
Wow. Didn't realise how different it was. Looking good.
Tombi, Legacy of Kain, Onimusha, Breath of Fire, Bloody Roar.
I'd also like to see some more faithful revivals of Crash and Spyro. Don't think that's ever actually going to happen now though.
The Powerstone mention above is a good one too.
@Gabriel: I'd rather the same big franchises didn't have a complete monopoly over videogames thanks. Play some other games.
I've been meaning to replay these. So good. I'm a bit of an Insomniac Spyro fanboy so I also kind of liked Enter the Dragonfly too (Not Insomniac I know but very much Insomniac-style. Also Steward Copeland)
Absolutely pathetic. These guys are lost causes.
Beautiful doesn't necessarily mean realistic though. Not all games have to be high fidelity renderings of reality.
