@generic: Hrm not really, he should really just sound like old-snake but not as old. I don't need to tell you that Hayter was Big Boss in both Snake Eater and Peace Walker.
Mainstream games journalism and advertisement = Dubstep and super-exaggerated reporting accents.
But yeah I just hope Kojima hasn't kicked out David for the actor in the upcoming film. Seriously, minus respect for that if it's the case. That film is almost definitely going to suck unless it's really experimental and wacky like the original game, which it definitely won't be. I don't know why Kojima just doesn't direct it himself...

Legend
I'm not arsed getting it until I get a Ps4, and god knows when that'll be since I'm penniless.
Definitely not as hyped for this as I was for San Andreas and Vice City back in the day. Meh, GTA games are pretty juvenile anyway. I can wait.
Er, you just press the middle and lift the disc out, there's no pulling involved. At least not for Ps3 games...
Journey Rocket Deathmatch is looking pretty great too hahaha
You're trolling right?
Er, pretty sure this was confirmed to be a film version of Human Revolution, hence the style of the font and the colour and all that.
I had no idea that was satire at first. It's the kind of pastiche that mimics a stupid article so well that it's barely distinguishable from what it's satirizing. Not really how it's done...
I disagree.
#1. It's gotten to a point at which people have kind of cooled off about Half Life. Obviously they still love it, but the hype for the third game was definitely higher a few years ago. Point being the game'll probably surprise us.
#2. Duke Nukem Forever sucked because it was a bad game, not because it was overhyped. Granted it's history might've discouraged the developers a bit, but it was still an awful game. I wouldn't expec...
Hmmm, maybe he was just too enthusiastic about every project SE tried to develop? That or he was a little out of touch. Greenlighting Mindjack suggests that. But don't forget it's Motomu Toriyama who wrote that title.
The Nier thing was always a bit weird I'll give you that- total pandering. Also I don't think now that he's gone we're going to see Type-0 localised any faster. I think there's stuff they're not telling us about that. I mean I don...
I partly agree, although I don't think they should remake it at all. It's fine the way it is. I think a remake would retroactively spoil the original. It's the retroness of that game that actually makes it awesome- the memorable pre-rendered backdrops, the unique quality of the midi sounds Uematsu made use of, the silence of the characters, the character models themselves. I honestly wouldn't have any of that stuff any other way. Call it nostalgia but I think it's all magi...
"That's why, the post continued, there were huge projects that needed to be ended or important people that needed to be let go, but weren't."
I wonder what "huge projects" he's referring to. Possibly XIII, since that was plagued by all sorts of issues during development. I hope he doesn't mean Versus.
Still, not that's he without talent, but it seems the problem is really Motomu Toriyama. I think he was given too much a...
A lot probably has to go to investors and paying back possible loans and whatnot. Also employee's salaries. Also distribution. Also advertisement. Also paying Sony and Microsoft etc. In fact there's probably much more payments involved than I or anyone realises. (except mattgrowcott above)
The profit is what's left, so clearly all of the above stuff and more is costing them a lot.
Hmmmmmm, I wonder to what extent he intends to "recreate" MGS beyond the voice actor for Snake? Obviously, in typical MGS fashion, the trailer was pretty batshit, but I wonder... The inclusion of a more realistic voice actor suggests the games might become a little bit more generic.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, a lot of fiction these days is returning to genre, but with more sophistication and intellgence. I think of Cormac McCarthy's The Road- apoca...
Oh diggitty damn *shivers with excitement*
Totally agree with you uuaschbaer, but I'm just not sure you can say that about cosplay. Unless you're talking about the actual tailoring of the outfits, which can be impressive, but lets be honest, pretty much all cosplay looks totally lame.
Regardless of whether or not this is fake, it still seems likely that MGSV will hit the Ps4.
There are so many games I'm just not going to buy for my Ps3 because they're being released on the Ps4. This also means I probably won't actually play any of those games because god knows when I'll actually buy a Ps4.
Sounds better than the tired sci-fi game we're getting instead. Destiny just looks so generic. Everything's way too polychromatic. Such a tired sci-fi aesthetic. Sort of reminds of WoW or something too. And the broad religious names for things, ugh. Such big, stupid, sweeping metaphors that want to seem epic and profound.
They should have made this frog game damnit.
Well if it's got built in Kinect then I'd imagine they've got big plans for the family / casual market.
If it block's used games and is always online then, well, that just speaks for itself. Nobody wants that and I'd expect major technical issues with it down the line.
If the online service remains subscription based then that's another bad move. I don't know how people shell out for that- such extortion.
I dunno, ...
