Hmmm, except that X-2 and XII are superb games. Whatever about XIII, I like it but it's far from perfect.

I'm going to play it again no matter what it looks like. It's been way too long.
The problem for me is that Mistwalker don't develop for the PS3. I'm not buying a 360 just for Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, and I'm not buying a wii just for the Last Story.
I do have a DS though so I'll be playing ASH whenever a decent translation surfaces.
Still though, it annoys me that they only make exclusives.

It was a bug fest on the DS, I hope this version's improved. I had to restart the game like 3 times on the DS coz my file kept corrupting and glitching and shit.
Edit: In fact, this is definitely the exact same game again. COuld they not throw in some extra stuff? A new age? Or at least eventually bring all the other Myst games to the 3ds?
Agito got the same treatment... But changing the name doesn't matter. All people need to do is to watch the gameplay trailer for it. It becomes immediately apparent that the game is going to be awesome.
Having thirteen in the title might turn people off, it makes sense that it would at this point, but I think changing the name would only have a small effect. They've just gotta market it better, spam that gameplay trailer everywhere.

If they were to remake VII, there are several things that'd make it a very difficult project.
They have to rebuild the entire game from scratch, it's not as simple as just giving it a HD makeover. It'd be a project as big as Versus XIII likely.

I don't know, in all the aforementioned games I just feel the whole thing is marred by awful dialogue and a plot that feels super derivative and that doesn't really know where it's going or what it wants to say. And i'm not saying this from a modern perspective. I've played loads of classic rpgs that I absolutely love, but Tri-ace games just really irk me the whole time I'm playing them.
