Maybe they'll have their own big show or something, rather than compete for viewers with the other companies.
"Players" meaning a relatively tiny minority with money to burn who need to compensate for something.
I think that's just your perception of events. From what I've read, it's more that the management needed a mainline game to be made, and Versus was selected. They also needed it to have broader appeal, so it had to be changed. They didn't think Nomura was the right man for that job, and gave the project to Tabata. Versus was also originally going to be a trilogy (which the management figured would be too expensive for such a weird game - they'd never profit). I think it ma...
Shame that most of the film is total arse though.
I doubt very much work has been done on 16, if any. Motomu Toriyama has been working on something for like 4 years but it has yet to be announced and I smell yet more SquareEnix development hell. Other than that, their resources have been divided between KHIII, the VII remake, XV, XIV, and a whole host of mobile games. I suppose Hiroyuki Ito might be up to something, but he has to be working with a skeleton crew. I guess we'll see.
Graphics yes. The other two things were great, but not the best imo.
The thing is though, I don't see why they can't just make the rest of the DLC. Tabata might be gone, but he wasn't really involved with the episodes. But, I guess Tabata's departure isn't the reason they cancelled everything.
The DLC was cool because it had loads of Versus XIII throwbacks and repurposed ideas. I want to see what else they planned on doing. There's a Versus XIII reference in the Episode Ardyn trailer, and I'm willing to bet that t...
I'd be more inclined to agree if they hadn't announced 4 more episodes in the first place, but yeah I do want to know where 16 and the 7 Remake are at.
That's good isn't it? How about un-cancelling that DLC then SE?
Continued:
19. How bad Kingsglaive is.
20. That you can't explore world of ruin Lucis.
21. That the Episode Ignis alternate ending wasn't something you could discover by playing New Game+.
22. The repetitive Royal Vessel dialogue.
23. How un-atmospheric the game often feels - like, no ambience whatsoever in a lot of places. Just dead.
24. The fact that Magitek Engines don't drop containers with daemons in them, like i...
Well I enjoyed just hanging out with the characters as personalities. It didn't really matter to me that there wasn't much character development. It was just like hanging out with friends or something. I don't need my friends to have an "arc" to make them worth hanging out with.
Things I didn't / don't like (some nitpicking, and in no particular order):
1. The sheer number of invisible and arbitrary barriers in the world. It got to the...
I'd also like some clarification on this. They didn't say anything about discontinuing updates for the console versions.
I guess that means the PC version of Comrades will remain super unoptimized.
@Nicknasty: Both parties essentially had left and right leaning factions, and in the end, the left leaning faction of the dems basically took total control of the Democratic party, and the right-leaning faction of the repubs took control of the Republican party.
I say "left-leaning", but really it's more like the dems = right-leaning / centrist, and the republicans = right wing. The dems are left of the republicans alright, but they're not left-wing.
@PapaBop: The game's story feels incomplete largely because some of it was offloaded as Brotherhood, Kingsglaive, and the Episodes. It helps to watch / play all of it.
The thing that bugs me the most though is the fact that, if you play Episode Ignis, you realize that the entire core game past the Leviathan fight is basically a bad timeline. The true, best ending is DLC. And what's more, the true ending in Episode Ignis isn't even explained properly - they even ...
I'd say they'll announce the new episodes.
Lars Croft
Have you read the synopses for them though?
Sounds like at least the Lunafreya and Noctis episodes might be related, and also that they are basically a what-if scenario where Noctis takes a different path and survives somehow. I'm willing to bet we'll see that famous Versus XIII scene where he defends the Citadel from the Empire.
I'll believe it when I see it. We've heard this kind of talk countless times before. Ever since Final Fantasy XII released, SquareEnix have struggled to get major games out - XIII, XIV, Versus XIII / XV, Kingdom Hearts III, and now the VII Remake, which was announced like 3 years ago. Also, Motomu Toriyama has been working on something for 4 years, and still no word about it. I mean I know they make big games, but it just seems like the real reason for them taking so long is how troub...
