I did not like the character creation because I thought it looked lame but WOW has the beta changed my mind BIG TIME!
It's already miles ahead of LBP in character creation and the kart racing seems solid.
I have to say that I'm finally sold on MNR and I'm very upset that it has taken me this long.

That's one of the biggest faults of this generation. Often times it's a distraction or worse, it's forced down upon gamers. Multiplayer is certainly not a must, especially for Single-Player themed games where attention is diverted from the single player aspect.
Not many developers are talented or have enough resources to make multiplayer, but that's ok because Multiplayer is not a must.

Anyways, Sony needs to make Premium worthy enough for a purchase. Cross Chat SHOULD be free because it makes no sense charging for it since not everybody would be able to use it. That's a strong word. For something to dominate they need to take over software, sales, better multiplatforms, etc.
The PS3 still flexed it muscles and ran over the 360 in terms of first party games, but the 360 still dominated software sales. The PS3 had better hardware sales (if I'm not mistaken) but the 360 is still leading. Don't forget 2009 isn't over. The PS3 still has one trick up its sleeve and that trick is known as Final Fantasy 13... in Japan.

The issue isn't that it WAS a snatch and grab, the issue was that it was priced at $60.
I do however think ODST is not the ONLY offender of being a short game that isn't worth the price tag. However there are even many games that ARE lengthy that STILL aren't worth their price tags (you know those crappy Lair, Haze kinda games). ODST gets picked on because it's:
a) Halo
b) popular
c) MS (meaning M$. If there is ever a problem with money and MS is involved...
Gran Turismo has been delayed far too long to fail.
I have no doubt that considering Forza 3 released first, that PolyPhony have the edge because now they can see where their competitors messed up, improve on it, deliver the style of PD, and ultimately deliver a better game (though F3 is a great game too).

Xbox Live Fees, micro-transactions/DLC,withhol ding content to be sold for $ later, releasing poorly tested games early with the intention to patch it through updates, communicating with juvenile idiots are all very, very, valid reasons for how much crap the internet has punished the gaming industry with.
