Good luck finding valid reasoning here!
I wouldn't say he didn't give any good reasons, but his list is entirely subjective, and thus, not really indicative of something newsworthy.
These lists get done to death every end of the year.
MS has a solid lineup as well, which means it's going to be damn competitive. 2009 was a joke for MS and lead to Sony fanboys claiming the end of the 360 (of course, these fanboys switch roles with 360 fanboys who proclaimed the same thing with PS3 when the PS3 first came out-- ironic how fanboy divisions are one in the same, isn't it?)
The 2010 lineup for both consoles is looking fierce and I would bet my money on Sony just slightly, but MS is right up there with their games. Ha...
I know UC2 fans are going to flip out after seeing Halo over Uncharted 2, but I don't mind calling Halo CE the best game of the decade (though I would award the PC version the honor) considering how solid the game was and how much it affected the rest of the upcoming decade. Would call it the best of the decade personally? Not sure-- ten years is a lot of time for competition to grow and adapt and the feat of coming out early in the decade and staying relatively high is amazing enough.

I have never heard of that list of games you wrote down. Not only that but they seem to have gotten average reviews.
Just because something is new doesn't mean it's good.
Nintendo has the resources to do so much more.
They have a disgraceful online system and their excuse is that they don't want to harm the children. What bull.
Their major hits are far too far apart, especially from the looks of 2009.
It's just that Nintendo can...
Correct, Nintendo wanted to gain more out of it which is why they decided to leave Sony out of the loop, but regardless if it wasn't for that, Playstation would likely not be here today.
It's such an interesting history because it could have been avoided completely and Sony didn't even show interest in the gaming industry until Nintendo left them (from my understanding)
Thanks for trying to screw Sony all those years ago. You made them avenge your betrayal and helped conceptualize the birth of PlayStation.
Nintendo must have kicked themselves in the nuts for being partly responsible for PlayStation.
Don't you have a poison resistance ring?
I'm in the Latria world. It's really creepy. The atmosphere in this game is incredible and I think they did a terrific job giving each world a unique atmosphere.
As "nice" as his thoughts are, I totally think that the Wii has failed its core Nintendo demographic miserably. Wii Sports is a reflection of Nintendo's new, more casual audience.
It's like how PC gamers felt when IW screwed them MW2. You simply can't last on a Wii console if you aren't a casual gamer.
Nintendo is highly successful and they did do a good job making a machine that made them tons of money, but I for one am disappointed with the Wii. Nintendo ...
The co-op is fantastic but I'm hungry for more too.
To be fair, co-op is pretty hard for them (the story co-op I mean), but all three were bloody fantastic.
As for Gold Rush/Survival, bring on some more too-- but I hope they raise the cap to like 20 rounds or so.
Hey now, the DS is a pretty great system.
Lol, I haven't even heard of this award up until now.
Also, I didn't know L4D2 was on PS3 -_- Good going GT.
Wow, good score too!
...but why haven't I heard of it?
@1.1
Wow, talk about sleeper hit of the year. Just when you thought the year was over this game pops up.
Let's see what other critics say though. It looks pretty interesting. God of War meets Zelda. Only people like Gago below can make that sound like a bad thing :P
My God is Wii Sports THAT good of a party game??
I mean seriously... my party game of choice is LBP, but I guess Wii Sports is much more accessible.
I thought the list was doomed when I saw Wii Sports but it's a pretty typical list full of Uncharted 2, MW2, and other popular titles.
Though, the lack of Demon's Souls upsets me :|
I'll still have to try Arkham Asylum. I'm surprised people liked Flower so much too. I thought it was enjoyable bu...
*drools*
Hey, speaking of Demon's Souls, when DLC coming?
I mean, it has to come, there is the world of the giants that hasn't been unlocked because the pillar is broken (in the Nexus).
It's funny because that world seems the most interesting. Shadow of the Colossus size bosses would be gold.
I know that there a few that are on PC, but it makes little difference considering the fact that there is a +100 difference.
When I was arguing with Jack I misinterpreted the title and assumed it meant PS3, overall, was taking the lead in software quality and quantity. Jack was arguing about exclusives. I wasn't.
"MS on its own, by the way the company does things, has not delivered quality. No matter how many times you wave the "games sell better on 360&qu...
I'm arguing that the PS3 still has less quality titles than the 360 which is undeniable. I think it's fairly obvious Sony-owned software trumps Microsoft-owned software in terms of quality and quantity.
Anyways, I see your point-- I misinterpreted to mean "PS3" has the lead. Sorry about that.
We are not talking about the whole 360 library, we are talking about the quality A-AAA games, so I agree with you that quality> quantity but it is irrelevant in this case.
The title says that Sony took the lead, which is inaccurate. That's all I'm saying-- when you consider the whole lifespan of both consoles, the 360 has been around longer and has more highly rated games overall.
You keep telling me how great Sony's games are but your assuming I disagree with you...
Graphics quality title?
There was nothing mentioned about graphics. That's a component in a game, but we are talking about overall, in which case sine its conception, the 360 has more overall A-AAA titles.
The 360 this year was wasted, which allowed Sony to catch up with their first party titles.
Sony is on a roll now as most of their studios can consistently release games to keep the PS3 active. And then of course there are the multiplats.

Impressive graphics is not based on the subjectivity of having a capable machine to run it.
Objectively, you are all admitting Crysis is most impressive. Yet, you hide behind the excuse that UC2 is impressive because it runs on the PS3.
That doesn't make UC2 more impressive than Crysis in terms of graphics. This has nothing to do with whether you can run a machine or not-- Crysis is the most impressive looking game as it looks much more impressive than Uncharted 2. S...
Come on, there are rabid fanboys on this site that will approve anything that feeds their fanboyism.
It's not hard to believe that when something as poorly speculated (as Baseball said) gets approved, you'd have to wonder if people simply read the title and they LIKE what they read, or if they simply go about randomly approving anything they want.
I don't think people who approve chose to approve an article like this because they thought it was important, but it's cl...
I'm responding to you because I disagree and because I have the right to. If you don't want me responding to you, don't respond back.
I'm not saying reviews aren't opinions but it doesn't negate the fact that they offer facts, along with opinions. You can look at a review, read it, and understand the general idea of a game. And when did I say reviews aren't opinions? Your first point seems irrelevant since nobody is denying that opinions are facts.
Just giving a list...
