Though I've never shamefully played Half Life, it seems deserving of the #1 spot based on how people treat the game.

From what I have played my list would be something like this:

1) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
2) Halo: Combat Evolved
3) Killzone 2

Unfortunately I haven't played too many FPS'es and was only introduced to the genre with Halo CE. I absolutely loved Call of Duty 4. Halo is pretty much tied with CoD4 and the only reason I gave ...

It's a bit funny how this popular series hasn't gotten a NA release, yet something like a one-hit wonder, hardcore game known as Demon's Souls gets published and wins GOTY from various sites.

About time Yakuza came to the other side, I'm interested to see how it does.

However Nintendo relies far too much on what they know and they don't do more new stuff. The core casual audience is satisfied with the Wii while the more hardcore player keeps playing the classic franchises. Nintendo can venture on and offer much more, but they don't. Your list is outdated too. There is nothing constantly fresh or active about the Wii these days.

Then there is the problem I have with the Wii and online. Nintendo's excuse is that they are protecting the children,...

I don't see why it matters. Sure he should have gone to bed, but it's not like you've never stayed up past your bed time, right?

Did a grown man kill a child because he had an "argument" with him? How does a grown man have a dispute over a video game? And how does he kill a kid for it?

Regarding Thompson: this doesn't give him any lick of "ammunition" to anybody sensible enough to understand that gaming was simply the subject of a clearly much bigger picture dealing with a psychotic "relative".

Unfortunately, Thompson will still try.

I didn't say anything below 90 is average.

A score around 70 screams average. And no, I don't go by scores alone so that assumption is faulty: self-experience is the best way to get a subjective understanding but reviews tend to detail gameplay and mechanics which can indicate how a game is.

So, no, I'm not missing out on much because I get as much out of games as I can, and I don't judge games based solely on scores. That would be silly.

Well yeah, ODST is a minor pit stop to Reach anyway.

When I said average I meant 70-80, 85 is being generous because I have doubts for MAG.

We'll see how it turns out.

MAG is my biggest worry though. That game looks a little borderline average and I strongly doubt it will get 90's across the media.

I'm aiming anywhere inbetween 70-85 for MAG. I hope that I'm wrong, but with BFBC2 there to compete against I don't think MAG stands a chance.

Let's hope I'm wrong.

The rest of the PS3 lineup for 2010 looks solid and promising.

Killzone 1, Lair, and Haze were all hyped and all failed to meet that hype.

K2 didn't meet the sales hype nor did it kill Halo like some rabid fanboys thought, but it was still a great game.

Yeah, I'm sure "Most reviewers were just high". Maybe they were biased against the PS3 too?

Anyways, Lair had horrible controls and the SIXAXIS was pretty much forced down our throats.

They made a patch with analog controls but the damage was long since dealt, and the analog controllers didn't help too much. I don't expect you to "dog" on any PS3 exclusive, but it's evident the controls killed the game.

It's probably the one game that...

You can list all the games you want on the PSN that are downloadable, but MS has the feature with tons more.

My point wasn't that PSN doesn't have many games, but that MS has more of it, thus, XBL features more content than PSN.

It debuted with stellar games, conceptualized new great franchises, gave us the first voice over of a FF game, gave us the first 3D GTA, etc. etc.

There's so much history with that console and the games were rock solid.

The one issue I had with it was that it was pretty much the 360 of this gen with Sony milking us for memory cards, multitap, network adapter, etc. Ironic how the best featured console isn't necessarily the fan favorite. Goes to show you how important...

Zelda games are a crown gem to Nintendo.

Great series.

I wouldn't say Killzone 2 is broken, but it had a rocky start.

Like MW2 or any other game, it's got its flaws and its rocky starts.

What I find weird with K2 is that it had a beta, but no one really used it to give feedback. I guess everybody was happy it finally came out. Then, after the game the complaints started rolling in and then GG made changes.

One of the biggest and most annoying things with K2's launch was the stupid shotgun auto aim. Luckily t...

Pretty funny too.

It's pretty astonishing how quick 10 years goes by.

And I have to say, it's been a great decade of gaming. I think the rise of online gaming is by far the most significant and will be remembered years in the future (though likely it will be laughed at as archaic and limited)

6013d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

The most popular games this gen have been multiplayer games: CoD, Halo, Wii Sports, Gears etc.

Not that single player games are any less as popular, but MP games tend to last longer and aren't as forgotten as quickly as a game with a good MP component.

Though, I will say, most of my best experiences with games have come through Single Player games.

Regardless, I would say in terms of features, XBL is OBJECTIVELY superior.

PSN is far too spot...

I really don't think MW2 is a bad game, but it's definitely not the best PS3 game, nor is it GOTY.

The sad thing is that I gave GT the benefit of the doubt.

Ugh, well, it's their opinion and I can care less for it.

They gave GOTY to MW2 and their garbage reason was because UC2 collected dust while they kept playing MULTIPLAYER in MW2. Let me say that I too have played MW2 multiplayer more and UC2 HAS been absent from my PS3 for a while but that does NOT ...

If that list is true then Sony is set for a greater 2010 than I had originally thought.

I'm sure MS has a few more games, as they do tend to announce games closer to launch than Sony does, but it's pretty obvious Sony has been planning long-term since PS3 debuted.

And it's been a long wait, but the "future" Sony always talked about has already become the present.

If that list is 100% accurate then it's clear Sony will be the victor again.
