Bayonetta gets auto-hated on because it stands in the way of God of War. It's one thing I notice strongly especially here on N4G where people make typical condescending remarks in comparison to God of War.
I find this common mostly from PS3 fans who can't stand the idea of another game in the same genre as God of War receiving equal critical reception. I don't understand why both games can't be seen as great ...

If your talking about Heavy Rain, the main complaint/worry with the game is that it relies heavily on QTE.
Personally, I think both these games are going to be awesome and will push the experience of connecting the gamer to the game.
ME2 is one hell of a game though. God I hope the rumors are true, I'm dying to play it on the PS3.

A well established and popular multiplatform game vs. a new exclusive IP on a console with the smallest user base. That's fair.

I don't see any developer suddenly rushing to make 256 players. I really don't think it's setting new standards-- it's just maximizing the record.
I look at it like this: MAG does exactly what it says it will do: bring you a 256 player game with superb servers-- a freaking 18 player game of COD can't do that without hiccups.
However, I do NOT think that this is needed. It's like motion control in a way because though the technology is possible, it still wont replace ...

MAG has done a great job with the architecture aimed at 256 players but I still don't think that:
a) It's necessary or will be a new standard-- numerous games with much smaller numbers are succeeding greatly
b) Makes MAG a significant shooter-- yo...
Neither MAG or Killzone 2 qualify for "best shooter alive".
Both are games that took ideas from pre-existing shooters, which is fine, but it hardly qualifies them for best shooter.
I love Killzone 2 but it doesn't have any big feature that sticks out-- the two best things for the game are graphics (PC games have outdone Killzone 2) and class-based gameplay (already done many times before).

That's actually the logic of many MAG fanboys.
Many people love asserting that MAG is the greatest innovation for FPS because more players= better game which is an absolutely laughable premise.
MAG has proven that more players does not equal better game.
It's a lot like Scribblenauts: so much effort into the unique selling point that it doesn't hold up too well in other areas like gameplay.

They basically admitted that the GameRoom will feature the stripped down classic versions which they are charging for.
I could understand if the GameRoom games were BETTER or revamped from the XBLA titles, but no, they are WATERED down versions and you STILL have to pay for them.

He vastly exaggerated there, didn't he? Calling it the greatest MP shooter is a bit vague though, but MAG is far from the best. Nor does it have to be-- that kind of expectations is what ruins hype and makes games look disappointing when they don't reach absurd hype that is sometimes placed on games.
MAG is not the greatest but it doesn't have to be. It most certainly is a "good" game...
I wasn't talking about good writing, I was talking about differentiating facts from subjectivity in a review.
As for sensationalism, I do not go by the score, I go more by the content and what the reviewer states about the game objectively.
It still didn't have AAA hype. I can equally pull sources showing A-AA hype.
Obviously some people hyped it AAA but the general attitude was very doubtful, especially here on N4G. I, along with others were very skeptical of MAG.
I'm saying that a significant majority of skeptics were against MAG. It was rarely hyped LIKE Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 was.
Now, the game is decent, but nothing special and I do agree that there are many people who are butthur...
I wonder if they will recharge for it like MS is doing with Game Room :/
