It's not the best by any means and it's pretty standard, but I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with that.
MAG really didn't get any real hype in comparison to other PS3 games, except for the few fanboys who called it a revolution and a new standard for online games (despite the fact that 12-32 player games are just fine the way they are).
MAG is definitely going to be forgotten, which worries me because I did want to buy it.
Note how graphics don't matter anymore to some people. Usually a PS3 exclusive is boasted as being an all around terrific game, but MAG clearly has shortcomings. It's definitely not the best PS3 exclusive or shooter, and I do not think TOO highly of it, but the game looks solid enough.
In a way MAG is giving a reality check to some people that thing gameplay > graphics.
As for technicalities, though graphics, animations, and things of that nature may be a downside...

I'm pretty sure that it's because the 360 is so damn cheap. Unlike Sony MS has made profits off their console while Sony has had to rely on software sales and digital purchases and accessories.
It was a pretty smart move for MS because they not only outsold Sony, but they are now in the position to continue keeping two steps ahead of them.
Yet, I am also unsatisfied with how shoddy the 360 is. Actually, I take that back-- MS may be outpacing Sony but they have suffer...

I do find that people keep whining about the 7/10 reviews, yet throw out all their detective work when a 9/10 or a 5/5 review come out.
The bottom line though is that MAG is a fun game that succeeds in it's attempts at sustaining a large, team-based game.

Obvious, but good list. The game sounds great, wish I could afford it and BFBC2 together.
Tell me something, how big is the "Skill tree" and how many guns are there? Is it different according to the PMC? Different in design/visuals or performance?
People HAVE used the device. There is no reason to doubt that it will change gaming. Motion control as a whole is said to change gaming forever and the proof is in the Wii.
With Sony and MS following and with MS aiming to remove the very heart of gaming-- the controller-- and incorporating motion control, how could you NOT say that these projects are not going to change gaming forever? The traditional approach to gaming is being removed and I do believe it will change gaming.

Having all three consoles doesn't exempt you from having a bias and making irrational, unfounded claims.
Trophies don't indicate skill, and I feel that you are taking the leaderboard thing too seriously. I certainly didn't mean it to be meant like that-- it's all for fun. I like comparing trophies with friends, asking how they managed to get so and so, etc.
Trophy leaderboards promote the whole premise of trophies to begin with.

I think $40 would have been an easy price, but $60 for a multiplayer-only does not sit well with me, especially if I can get a more complete package with BFBC2.

But I had trouble with the game.
Couldn't fly the Warhawks, and I REALLY hated the lock-on features of guns. It was so annoying getting auto kills. However, I watched experienced players play and they were quite good! The way people would throw those health orbs and the way people boobie-trapped their bases. CTF was fun.
