Not only Sony wasn’t first with many of the features of the Dualsense, but if anything, this should be great news for PS owners, because if these features become the standard on all 3 platforms, then their support will only get better, as opposed to right now where its become a mostly irrelevant feature outside of specific first party games

Too much controversy since it was announced, ir probably generated a lot of bias against voting for it by all the review outlets in the voting panel (thankfully)

Without it, it maybe could have been closer

@Profchaos

Well yes, but no one voting knew they were going to release that content drop haha.

I just find it weird to give best ongoing game to one that hasn’t even been out for a year and even in that year it has had quite a few ups and downs since the launch boom

Tbf, its kind of a strange category anyway. The only Family game for my definition there was Mario Party, I dont think the rest even have any kind of co-op / co-control modes.

Was also somewhat surprised, though maybe not that much I guess, that HD2 won best ongoing game (not that I’m mad it won several awards), best multiplayer game yes, but ongoing game for a game that probably many of the voters aren’t even playing anymore and only just got it first major expansion annou...

We already know when the review embargo is… the game is not out yet..

I have no idea what you are talking about regarding “unlocking the like/dislike tab”, the trailer in both the Bestheda and Xbox channels have them.

“ Also why are the previews limited to a select few media outlets? ” … You mean like basically every single other game out there? Since when have previews NOT been only to a handful of media outlets?

Dramatically improved is a bit of an overstatement, but its still nice to see devs can also opt to use hardware RT in UE instead of software RT when doing Pro patches

@foxtrot

Just having 2 SKUs on its own doesnt hold development back, literally almost every single third party developer out there does day one PC launches and that includes tons of weaker SKUs as well.

What will matter is where Sony decides to compromise when building the handheld.

MS made a great choice in keeping the same CPU, but an atrocious one with butchering the memory. If all they had done was lower the GPU and could have proba...

Why would they even release a handheld that doesn’t run all their first party games?

They either release all their games in it like Series S/Steamdeck or they have to make dedicated games for it like the PSP/Vita (which we already know how that worked even when games didn’t take an eternity and a small fortune to make)

There is no scenario I can see where this isn’t 2 SKU with different power profiles getting all games

It’s not really bottlenecked by tech necessarily. Its limited by the same things that will ALWAYS continue to limit handheld stuff: battery life, cooling, size.

Every portable handheld out there could push way higher specs if they wanted to, but the battery would last 30min and/or overheat

I mean, the nominees come from like 200 review outlets that each provide their top 5 for each category (which in theory is also determined internally by votes from many of their employees) , as much as I also don’t think DLC should be here, it really shouldn’t have anything to do with “FromSoft fans”

It is literally being picked as a nominee by critics, not by fans

@Armaggedon

I dont think its even possible to meet Taash before the 5h refund period on Steam, and its absolutely not possible to get to the actual scenes that people are complaining about, given that they happen quite along in the companion storyline.

Its honestly a bit sad to reach a point where people even have to make up having bought and “refunded” the game just to make some kind of point

@jambola.

No, nothing for audio, but I can’t really say I’ve had anything that felt like companions pointing out a puzzle solution for me (though again, the puzzles are so dumb it probably wouldn’t even be necessary). In combat they might yell when new enemies show up in a certain direction or when there are range attackers and stuff like that I guess, though given how much visual noise the combat has, I haven’t had any issues with them saying that.

For c...

I haven't found it to be that linear, though certainly not as open as Inquisition (which was honestly too open for me, just to pad the game) . Some specific quest areas yes, or when you are doing a side quest that is specific to a character so they take you through a particular route.

But having seen Arlathan, The Cross Roads, Treviso and Minrathous so far, the main maps still have plenty of branching paths and hidden areas, with some clearly not available to access yet...

Except this game does make it optional. You quite literally have a specific setting to remove (or enhance) every kind of visual aid there is, quest markers, item markers or even if they glow or not.

Same with the difficulty settings, they are very granular and you can separately adjust many things to your liking (enemy health, aggression, Damage, etc)

Also the map design for major areas is still quite open with many branching and hidden paths, based on th...

You are talking about “solutions tailored to their hardware” and something good for console gamers… how exactly are you talking about a custom solution specific to Guerilla Games engine and not about PSSR?

522d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

They are not talking about PSSR, they are talking about Guerilla’s in house solution they decided to use instead of PSSR

SkillUp was MASSIVELY disappointed by the game and even he said the ending (last 2-3 hours) was amazing, so while still arguable of course, it does seem to be a highlight of the game

It seemed possible, to the point that being incompatible is very likely a business choice.

Slim uses 2 plates separated by a small space.
The Pro has a bigger middle space but its also taller.

It wasnt really that far fetched to think the height difference could have just been that extra size in the gap and the plates themselves were the same size

@andy

They do not add up.

Just like he said, both are horribly priced.

This 2TB model should have come out with the same price as the launch model and the launch model maybe get a $50 price cut.

And the PS5 Pro should have been $600.

This whole inflation thing is bs. Both companies simply no longer wish to pass any kind of savings to the consumer. The regular PS5 was already being sold at a profit l...

What? The game is not even using PSSR, its their own internal stuff. And its still the same frame rate caps for all modes, did you even watch the video?
