Where does this "milking" talk come from? Halo 5 came out three years after 4. Infinite came out six years after 5. There was an eight year gap between Halo Wars 1 and 2. MCC was released because the severs for the Halo games on 360 were closing. Milking would be MS literally releasing a Halo title annually (i.e. COD).

Considering Halo is the Xbox's premier ip, they don't "milk" the brand any more than Nintendo or Sony does theirs.

The idea behind The Initiative looked good on paper but logically wasn't. A studio composed of lead designers and directors from various AAA gaming studios is bound to become a clashing of egos and ideas. No-one would be willing to compromise their vision.

Imagine if Sony announced that they were creating a new studio in Japan tasked with reviving one of their dormant ips (lets use Syphon Filter for example) and the team was being led by Hideo Kojima, Tomonobu Itagaki, ...

They should be removed just off of the fact that they gave the Halo TV series show-runners free reign to do whatever they wanted with the brand. To which, they've (writers) admitted to not researching the games or studying any of the franchise's lore (novels, comics, animated films etc.) because it was below them to. Resulting in an imposter Master Chief who barely wears his helmet.

Phil should be the main Xbox employee to be laid off.

3rd party could simply be studios who've already had ties to co-developing previous Halo entries, such as Certain Affinity and Saber Interactive.

Why do I get the sense that id Software's going to be developing future Halo projects?

Sizing up for the Acti-Blizz purchase.

I'm not convinced (given the developer's shady track record). Practically every trailer released thus far has had the game mirroring that gameplay to that of another popular franchise in the zombie/survival category.

The first gameplay trailer looked like that of TLOU (straight down to the crouching/crawl animations). The second trailer's gameplay looked like The Division. The more recent gameplay snippets has the game parroting Days Gone and State of Decay. <...

Yet, Embracer is being co-financed by Saudi Arabia through a fund spearheaded by a scumbag like Mohammed bin Salman.

RE5 getting a lot of unwarranted hate as of years. Yet, when it first arrived, game was getting rave reviews and sales (still the top selling RE game to date) across the board. Where did this 180 swerve come from?
People trying to re-write history and jump on bandwagons as if RE5 was the dark cloud of the franchise, simply because it's the cool and trendy thing to do.

Apparently, anything that doesn't feature a white male protagonist is now automatically deemed as "woke."

Would it have too much for the devs to hire Ron Perlman as the voice of Hellboy? I'm sure he would have gladly reprise the role for peanuts.

"Should Be Studio's Longest Supported Title"
Which isn't saying much. MK11 was supposed to be supported for several years, with NRS even claiming that the pandemic wouldn't deter any of their momentum. Only for them to ditch the game barely after two years (with them going radio silent for numerous months with those years), with no updates on future titles since. It wasn't like MK11 didn't sell millions of copies.

NRS needs to look to ...

LOL. By the time it's complete, the PS6 will have already been released.

Wouldn't get too hyped. Game looks like a generic mobile mmo, using Unreal Engine stock assets.

They may be doing okay, but nowhere nearly as good had they'd been releasing AAA titles on a consistent basis.

Nintendo doesn't own the Bayonetta IP (nor does Platinum), Sega does. Nintendo owns the licenses to Bayo 2&3. Licenses can expire overtime if said entity chooses not to re-up them. That's why games such as Fatal Frame 4&5 (initially Nintendo exclusive) are now arriving on non Nintendo platforms.

Playtonic (Yooka-Laylee) have expressed interest in potentially developing a B-K entry. Given how the studio was formed by several ex Rare devs (who worked on all three B-Ks), it'd be a no brainer.

Everyone is just waiting on the green light from Uncle Phil.
