Not the same Bungie that worked on Halo's 1 through Reach, for starters. Most of the core team left for studios like Certain Affinity, V-1 Interactive, and Highwire Games (Six Days in Fallujah).
I'll never for the life of me understand why Jim Ryan glossed over purchasing a studio like Quantic Dream, in favor of a troubled, past their prime one like Bungie.
This news makes me very nervous for Twisted Pixel sharing a similar fate soon.
As well as Killer Instinct 4..
Oddly enough, Tom Cruise portrayed a samurai on film who just so happened to be more skilled than the Japanese samurai and was welcomed into their communities with open arms. Yet, there was no uproar or controversy in relation to the movie (about revisionist history) when it debuted in Japanese cinemas.
Capcom doesn't like hiring Union talent. It's the main reason as to why Alyson Court (Claire Redfield) as well as the actress who portrayed Ada Wong in the RE2 Remake were replaced.
What would it matter to Sega what MS would want? JSR isn't a MS IP.
Homelander's lapdog trying to damage control on his behalf.
Does it really need an explanation? A lovable person in the public eye but a slimeball otherwise.
Homelander (Phil Spencer) should NEVER be forgiven for literally throwing Tango under the bus.
Not surprised. Phil Spencer is literally the gaming industry's Homelander personified.
You're thinking about MachineGames (Wolfenstein) which was formed by several ex Starbreeze staff after Assault on Dark Athena was released (whose owned by Zenimax/Bethesda), now owned by MS.
Stop hosing Bend around and have them make a new Syphon Filter (or Days Gone 2) entry already.
Knowing Phil Spencer, he's probably hoping the game gets poorly received, so he can have an excuse for possibly shorting Ninja Theory.
Should have happened years ago after that disastrous 2020 Halo Infinite world premier gameplay debut but Phil managed to alleviate heat by purchasing Bethesda (how ironic) shortly after. He's produced nothing but failures during his 10yr tenure as lead.
- It was Phil's decision to kill off Scalebound and host of 1st party studios and IPs (i.e. Phantom Dust, Fable Legends, Knoxville, etc.) in development early in the XB1's tenure pretty much sealing the console's fate...
Never liked the guy and saw right through his nice guy facade from day one.
Guy goes on & on about wanting to expand the Xbox's Japanese 1st party portfolio and build good will within the Japanese gaming spectrum. Yet, kills off Scalebound and shutters the one Japanese studio they had under their umbrella after Hi-Fi Rush became a hit.
I'll take a Don Mattrick over a Phil Spencer any day of the week. Say what you will about him but at least Mattrick saw...
Tango Gameworks really?!! Been saying it for over a decade, Phil Spencer is a joke!!
If true, hopefully they support it better than they did with the Surface Duo.
Yet, the Oneechanbara series (y'know, the game with half-naked samurai females slicing up zombies to bloody pieces) get released in Japan uncensored.
The CERO ratings board is an equilibrium.
There were definitely plans for more DS after remake, that later got put on ice. EA had a frigging survey (shortly after remake was released) asking fans if they were interested in DS 2&3 remakes.
Clickbait title. Game was never touted as some killer app Xbox exclusive. It's an indie game done by a single person. It's on Steam & GOG.
