Unfortunately, when Peter Molyneux was appointed creative director of Microsoft Games Studios Europe in 2009, he had Rare restructured to focusing purely on Kinect. Hence, several Rare project in development such as Kameo 2, Conker sequel, Perfect Dark Core (a PD spin-off) etc. got the axe.
Make you wonder if Molyneux deliberately tried to sabotage Rare in order to try to bolster Lionhead's significance in Europe.

That's because the developers (Soleil) is lead by Itagaki and consists of several ex Team Ninja employees who worked on NG2. They also developed Samurai Jack Battle Through Time.
Hopefully the dev was able to resolve many of the issues that were prevalent in the PC release.
This is even a topic of discussion? Had this been Bethesda pre-MS purchase, Starfield would have more than likely released in a Fallout 76 state. MS' 1st party (or lack-of) line-up is a topic for another day.
Gamers are a fickle, bi-polar bunch. You get appalled when a Starfield gets delayed, yet don't wont a game to ship in an incomplete (Halo Infinite) or completely broken (Anthem/Cyberpunk 2077) form.
