sure, but even at $30 the contracted console is cheaper.
people need to learn how to do math:
contracted $300 system after 2 years total cost (including live gold) = $540
non-contracted $500 system after 2 years total cost (including live gold) = $620
mainstream gamers doesn't care about grammar
if ms new console is called the "xbox 360 Z" then yes, it's an ominous warning. otherwise, no.
i love the concept of this, screw the boring unimaginative lumps that just wanted more of the same.
ohhh, i didn't realize that a $500 gpu + an 8 core cpu is "low end"
future soldier isn't good in 3d? i was thinking about picking it up now that its going for so cheap used.
i dunno, "and a game is a game for once" reads pretty clear to me.
new vita game probably (hopefully) - liberation sold pretty well, and the budget was probably small and offset by AC3's development so there's good reason for them to release another game on the platform.
i personally love to play games in 3D - when i upgraded my 32" 720p tv to a 42" 1080p one, i bought a vizio that supports passive 3d (and cost like $450 on sale), and i love it.
i was really looking forward to playing ascension in 3d, enough that i think i'll wait to buy the game used for under $30.
who is the "highly acclaimed writer, very famous video game luminary" behind unfinished swan?
seems like the cave (which was made by ron gilbert, a famous videogame luminary) would fit the clue better...?
i'm waiting for assassin's creed: husker du
dude, ds3 has has plenty of graphics options ( as much or more than than most PC games). you may have read a misinformed article stating otherwise, but here are a few of the tweakable options:
post processing
motion blur
light quality/accumulation
anti aliasing
shader quality
shadow quality
antistropic filtering
depth of field
SSAO
...and more
and it's really well optimized ...
it's sad but true - *all* recent and upcoming big ticket console games are skipping PC...
dead space 3
far cry 3
assassin's creed 3
Alien Colonial Marines
Call of Duty Black Ops 2
Dishonored
Bioshock Infinite
Hitman Absolution
XCOM
crysis 3
the list goes on and on. clearly PC as a gaming platform is "ABANDONED"...!!!!
this looks GREAT. i will be supporting this by buying it day one.
Except Koch bought saints row and now volition is the same as deep silver: a subsidiary of Koch. there's no reason to think deep silver will have anything to do with saints row. Why is that so confusing for people?
aww, it's cute when dimwitted 14 year olds try to be funny! keep it up!
I'm no fan of kamiya but this makes me want to buy everything he's worked on. What a badass.
@danamrich
Never argued whether the tweet was 'real' or not, just that the twitter account appeared to be real. I wasn't aware of you or your work before stumbling across this story, to be honest - from a cursory glance, having two separate twitter accounts, one all about games, and one not (but only the non-games account being linked to from a video game book's website) struck me as mildly odd.
Anyhow, thanks for the clarification!
first of all - netherealm makes the content, not marketing/sales decisions like this. people shouldn't be upset at them because it's out of their hands.
and it's not technically false advertising - just an unsurprisingly greedy move by their publisher. the videogame market is "underperforming" (ie - it's not growing exponentially year over year) so nickle and dime type shit like this is becoming more and more prevalent in a desperate attempt to scrap...
