I get a very introspective vibe from him. That's a good thing. If his mindset and game taste were to be compared in terms of a movie, he would be more 'What Dreams May Come' and less 'Ecks Vs Sever'. Seems like a good thing to me.
Yes Dmarc, it is overrated. It's neither nice, nor not nice that I say exclusives are a bad thing more than a good thing. It's simply my observations, based on time and knowledge. I understand why the console companies desire to have them, but that doesn't mean that's ultimately good for the consumer. It's not. It totally is not better for the consumer. You and I are not really benefiting from it.
We benefit from innovation, not exclusivity.
Yeah, try explaining that to your wife or girlfriend. Honey, I'm going to use my vacation time to sit at home and play all these kickass games I've been wanting to play, but haven't had the time to. What's that you say? What about you? Oh, yeah, I forgot. Oops.
Mission Failed.
Retry?
Jesus Christ... it's a Mexican Johnny Depp.
Optical_Matrix - That must mean you own all three consoles or a combination of consoles and handhelds. That is definitely an investment.
You can call it 'talking down', but really it's a telling of hard facts. Generally PC controls are more precise in almost every way. In every situation yet presented in this reality, games that are multi platform look better on a PC, even if they were developed in a console-centric fashion and in an overwhelming majority of ...
The PC is an open platform. Exclusives are a moot point. The only thing you could consider being exclusive to a PC based on input limitations, would be the RTS genre. But, even that isn't technically exclusive.
Truly the exclusive thing is overrated. I would rather know I can invest in one platform and play my games and not have to worry about not having this platform or that platform, because some corporate marketing division thinks it's a good idea to keep suc...
Wow, perfect quote.
The first thing that came to my mind was the movie Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
Ultimately, they will still sell millions more copies and all will be right with the world.
I agree with this statement. If you pay attention to news outlets, you will notice that just about all of the major ones have slight bents to their 'fact giving'.
Man I really want to go to Hometown Buffet now... No, seriously. It's fat guy's paradise.
Never Ending Soft-Serve Attack!
Waffle Cone Combo Breaker!
I agree with you that the DLC train needs to stop. There was a time when developers added things into their games without requiring $12.99 or $4.99. We all know that they are purposely leaving content out of the games we play today, so that they can generate additional income streams from the same product. It's fine to create add-ons and expansions, but it's getting to the point where they don't even hide their hand anymore.
This is the side effect of compa...
Darkfiber-
I'm not sure how you arrived to this conclusion about PC gamers, but I know this to not be the case based on personal observation of others and my own tastes in gaming. We are not Blizzard acolytes that worship at the altar of somethingcraft. Don't get me wrong, I really like Blizzard games (not really into WOW), but I play a lot more than Blizzard games.
When you say that 'so many people who only play games made by Blizzard'...
Ultima Underworld.
I enjoyed the other Gothic titles, even though it seemed in some ways Gothic 2 was better than Gothic 3. It had fewer technical problems. I look forward to this RPG. I will be playing it on PC, of course.
As primarily a PC gamer, I am used to games being delayed for the PC, coming out months or even years later. It's really not that big of a deal. If the end result of the delay is a better experience for PS3 owners, it's a fair trade off for them.
@dizzlek - What run out of garbage bags for your trash can?
I'm confused.
I have been playing the campaign mostly on the brutal setting, but have had to switch to hard on a few missions.
'Now is not the right time' - How can it not be time for a good RPG? I didn't even know anything about this game, but I'm hoping they continue it. Unfortunately, putting something on hold and then picking it back up in 6 months or however long, can lead to production problems internally. The finished product could end up suffering because of the lack of continuity in development.
I glad this is being released for Mac in general. I know a lot of people really enjoyed this game and it's a good thing the Mac crowd will get to as well.
