Did you read the article? The Dev from Naughty Dog didn't say that. All he said was devs choose a certain framerate and build up from there.
All from the article:
In the same interview, Barry Sandrew was asked whether or not an average gamer will able to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p? he replied with a BIG NO.
"In a side-by-side comparison, I don’t believe the average consumer can tell the difference between 720p and 108...
@alex:
Wow, I actually agree with you... Atleast on your second one, and I don't think you even agree with yourself since you think upscaled to 1080p is the same as 1080p.

Actually every game on my Xbox One comes out as 1080p...

@FantasyStar:
I don't know why you're getting dislikes, that stuff happens all of the time in many fields. Bruce Willis was asking for a lot more money than the rest of the cast in The Expendables 2 and he was dropped from the cast.
Though, the problem could have been that O'Donnell was being underpaid, if that's the case, then I'm pretty sure Activision is behind the firing. They're giving money to Bungie to make the game, and Bungie&...
And Persona Q. They do have lots of other studios that can work on games for the PS4, and they have hired 3rd party studios to work on games before, but they weren't very good like Game of Thrones.
@Dmagic: It's Madden 05, not 04. Sports games, atleast NHL, NFL, and the NBA are counted a year ahead than the actual year it releases because they count the season's end.
And yes, Madden 04 was amazing and much better than NFL 2K4.
Madden 05 vs. NFL 2K5, there was universal praise for NFL 2K5 and it was selling much better than Madden 05.
What matters to EA wasn't that 2K's game was better, it was that they weren't sellin...
Has Kojima always been this annoying? I remember every other article for an entire month was him hyping up something or damage controlling something. This wasn't the same details, just from multiple articles, this was different instances he hypes things up.
Good thing I didn't pay attention to gaming media when I played his previous games because if he was as annoying back then as he has been recently... I don't think I'd look back at his games as fondly.
In 2004, NFL 2K was killing Madden, so EA signed a deal with the NFL for the official license and now EA has the exclusive rights to use real NFL teams and players.
We won't be seeing another NFL 2K ever again unless something happens to that license. That goddamn EA...
Also, PES competes with FIFA, though PES has been lagging behind a bit.
@Lawboy:
People don't want to give credit to MS for having 22 studios? More like people don't want to give credit where credit is not due. MS does not have 22 gaming studios, atleast not by my and most people's definition. My definition of a gaming studio is a studio that makes games. Simple. If you consider studios that will never work on games as gaming studios, then my basement might as well be a gaming studio.
Also, this is Wikipedia, some ran...
@Lawboy:
Actually read that list for MS, they're counting studios that devote their time to R&D, the cloud, network restructuring, etc. Those are not studios that work on games and they will likely never work on games.
MS has 9 real gaming studios, 3 of which are primarily Kinect studios plus Rare which is also a Kinect studio now and hopefully not anymore since Kinect has been dropped.
Sony has 12 and 3 of them have sub-studios. Sony...
I don't get what everyone's obsession with pre-E3 momentum is. Shouldn't what matters be what happens at E3?
Every year there's a ton of momentum for a certain team for the Superbowl, for a certain fighter in a big PPV MMA or Boxing match, etc. The fighters and teams with the most momentum are not always the ones who come out on top.
The same applies to E3 and every other big event where competition is involved.
Killzone actually had wonderful lore that was full of grey moral lines, sucks that the actual in-game stories, characters, and dialogue were nowhere near as good.
They have a new writer on board, but it's only the New Vegas writer, and the game's story was decent. Should've got the Fallout 3 writer instead. Though I think New Vegas was intentionally striving for a less involved story like the old Fallout games, so maybe the New Vegas writer was just writing under ...

That's gonna be confusing to some people...
David Jaffe (director of God of War 1) said back in a 2010 God of War Director's Live QA that after the Greek gods fell, he wanted the Egyptian, Norse, etc. gods to come and try to take over the Grecian domains. He was talking about Kratos wielding Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) and all sorts of stuff and that maybe after all of the gods are dead, he melts down the Blades of Chaos into a scythe and becomes the grim reaper.
DBZ reference from Sasuke? For shame!
Please be the Zodiac version! And on Vita please! FFX on the Vita is a godsend. So much unsaved progress back when I first played FFX on the PS2, I don't run into that problem with the Vita. Even more unsaved progress with FFXII (I often had to leave or stop playing without being able to save).
Damn Alex, took a bit too much of your Medhication?
If you really follow by that dumb as hell ideology, then go buy a Barbie movie. If you hate it, go buy the sequel because maybe you'll hate it less. There's lots of other movies out there that you can go watch but no, stick to what you hate because maybe you'll like the next one. Don't ever watch a good movie again, just stick with Barbie movies because you hate them and you want more of the same.

To be fair to the PS3, the 360 had a year lead. The fact that the PS3 caught up and surpassed it while coming out a year later speaks volumes about Sony's worldwide appeal. The PS3 might've even surpassed the 360 a long time ago if you're talking about actual installbase and not units sold since there were many people who re-bought 360s because their previous ones RROD'd (before MS started replacing them in 2007).
MS has been relying solely on US/UK for all of...
Yup. A lot of those e-sports COD guys play nothing but COD. I'm pretty sure any upgrade in COD graphics would blow their minds.
You realize the only people who take the console war seriously are gamers and more specifically fanboys, right? Developers tend to not hold allegiances to one company like many fanboys. They often come and go from various studios and often find themselves working with one company one moment and then working for the rival of that company the next.
David Jaffe, the director of God of War is great friends with Adam "Deal With It" Orth. They've been friends for a lo...
Lol. I love the messianic throne people have given Phil Spencer, as if he's a saint who will make everyone's dreams come true because he tweeted "we're about games".
Sure, he got rid of the app pay wall and is bringing GWG to the Xbox One, but isn't that the obvious choice to make? Not doing either would be further condemning the Xbox One since the PS4 already has PS+ games, has never had an app paywall, and is doing much better in sales.
