Well, Sony was already losing $250 with each console sold, so they couldn't drop the price and keep BC in because it would've cost Sony something around $350, which would've killed the company. They chose what people wanted more...
I'm pretty sure having only one big exclusive a year kind of narrows down most people's choices on what to buy.

Yes, the PS2 was cheaper than the Xbox... And when it comes to consoles with almost all of the same games, which one plays the games better matters. It did last-gen and that's why I used my 360 for almost all of the multiplats.

The Wii U is probably going to do better than the X1 for May. Mario Kart 8, the X1 has no exclusives for the month, and a lot of people are probably waiting for the Kinect-less SKU if they're looking to buy an X1. I think it'll beat the X1 quite handily.
I'm not sure if it'll beat the PS4, but it's not impossible, might even be highly probable.
If these claims are false, Sony can get sued by stockholders. So I don't think Sony would lie about this, but I do want some numbers too.

$300-350 would be better. It's weaker than the PS4 by and therefore should be cheaper.
That could be done without the Kinect, and much cheaper... The PS4 supports voice commands if you use aby mic. If voice commands were so integral to the experience, then why can't it work with the mic that comes with the system?
They haven'the allowed that and they probably won't, it's the only selling point of the Kinect. Giving people the option to use VCs without Kinect would render the thing useless and any possible sale of the Kinect would practically be ...

He doesn't even specify whether it's regular use of the Kinect or if it was just to try the thing out when people got it and never used it again, or any number of things in between. Is having it plugged in "using it"? I keep mine plugged, but I haven't used it in 4 months.

Sony has four (five if you count DCUO) 1st party games out right now, the rest are 3rd party exclusives.

As a big 360 guy last-gen... I hate the thing right now. I continued to pay for Gold so I could play Gears and Halo... And that's it. Felt ripped off by the whole deal. Hell, half of the X1's launch were 360 games that were moved to the X1.
Made me love my PS3 more because it continued to get exclusives, made me go to PS4 first and pick up an Xbone in March with one of the Titanfall price-dropped bundles.
