Would be pretty cool if they made a classic Playstation grey colour though, just for the nostalgia :)

First of all I didn't find Amnesia: dark descent or Amnesia: a machine for pigs to be that scary, as for the others you mentioned I've not played them so can hardly have listed them.

Secondly no, this is not a list compiled of console horror games if you'd paid attention you'd have noticed that I mentioned Outlast, a primarily PC game for the time being, and also almost every other game I mentioned is available on PC as well as consoles.

And ...

Sounds interesting, I'll have to do that when I get the chance.

Anyway thanks! glad you liked the list and Happy Halloween!

Great blog, I'd been thinking of posting something like this myself but wasn't sure how to tackle it.

I feel it must be said again that since the Japanese popularised video games in the first place, that certain "negative tropes" regarding women's roles in another culture would inevitably conflict with those in the west. Then again I have played many Japanese games that have offered some of the best examples of strong, positive representations of women, ...

They could save some cash and just have Nolan do all the extras, lol ;)

I don't mind certain services being placed behind pay walls, but I will never accept simple access to online play being one of them, especially now due to the fact that online play is often touted the main selling point.

I compleatly agree. The thing is though I'm just burnt out on FPS's, so unless something truly incredable or fun and original comes out I'm just not all that intarested anymore :/

Is this a hint at a possible mulitplayer option I wonder? that'd be pretty damn cool if implemented well.

It's funny, I enjoyed this generation a lot less than previous ones because of the games... Don't get me wrong though, there were some really amazing games to come out this gen (MGS-4, TLOU and Dark Souls to name a few) but as you said we also saw the gradual decline of many once great developers (Capcom, SquareEnix, for example) and the rise of AAA development and focus on "mass appeal" led to coockie-cutter game development and many disapointments.

I just ...

I wouldn't recommend watching LPs in place of catching up on your backlog, but as you said watching someone else who's really good and/or struggle to win has some entertainment value.

Sometimes you may even learn something to help improve your play.
