I have stuck my foot in mouth(not the first time) far as sales go. Though after Iwata cut the expected forecast from 9million to 2.8, it makes many wonder how the WiiU will do this year.
Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, Super Smash Bros 4, Mario Kart 8, X and Zelda U are all great exclusives but majority of them don't have a definite time when they will release. Mario Kart 8 is the only one with an actual date. The rest are aiming for a 2014 release or 2015 release.
None of these are legitimate reasons why the WiiU will win.
Despite having...
-second screen
-cheaper price
-Certain upcoming 1st and 3rd party exclusive games
-Backwards compatibility
-and other reasons mention
The WiiU is still being kicked in the dirty and overall still in third place.
Possibly something to do with the exchange rate. Before Canadians were paying the equivalent of ~$359 and now they are paying ~$404.
Casual games in general aren't suppose to have any depth to them. I wouldn't say they are stupid but rather extremely simple. Both Angry Birds and The Last of Us are target at two different types of players. If Angry Birds make more money than TLoU it does not mean Angry Birds is the better game.
Sadly that's not going to happen. Its one of those situations where you will have to deal with it and move on.
Something people don't realize one(PC version) is running on a gaming pc rig build for this E3 demo/presentations. Which are expensive and very high-end.
Remember Battlefield 4 E3 demo? AMD reported that was ran on $4,000 pc.
XB1? Also Comcast don't own the name X1 it just name for their platform. Plenty of things used "X1" way before Comcast created that platform.
Sharp X1-computer in 1982
Cray X1-supercomputer sold 2003
United States patent X1
BMW X1
Some may not see it as insulting but when MS reveal the X1 would have DRM, "Xbone" started to pop up. Maybe some were hinting it would be DoA if the DRM would stay intact or maybe some users didn't like typing out "Xbox One". Though typing XB1 or X1 would be shorter if that was the case.
Resolution matters to a certain degree. However some N4G users take it to whole another level. Almost every time its confirm PS4 game is 1080p and X1 version is 720p or higher, some users decide to have pissing match.
@Neonridir
Its okay for early adopters to be upset. However no one forced to them to go out buy Xbox Ones. Being a early adopter does not open the door for you to gifts every time MS decides to offer a deal.
Why should early adopters be entitled to a reward? The console was release almost 4 months ago. When you buy a console at launch you are paying to access its features and games first and nothing more. Yes rewarding early adopters is great for your image and reputation but it is not something a company is obligated to do.
Now imagine the price of 4K monitor and a card that can run it smoothly.
Even if the WiiU is stronger than previously thought, it won't change the fact that publishers and developers are giving it the cold shoulder.
I doubt Azure would be used in the same way as Now and Onlive. Microsoft have not given any indication that they were interested in game streaming. However Azure could be used for game streaming. Agawi use it to stream games. NBC has used to stream this year Winter Olympics. So game streaming wouldn't be hard for MS if they were interested in doing it.
Microsoft seem like the type that would re-release an old games rather than stream them.
I mention how Nintendo could port old classic games and usually get hit with "it would devalue the brand", "mobile controls sucks" , "It will stop people from buying WiiU's and 3DS's" or "Get a WiiU or 3DS if you want Nintendo games."
*Naysayers*
-Nintendo could charge the same price they charge on the e-shop on mobile. This would help avoid devaluing the brand. There's no magical rule stating Nintendo must charge 99...
The screen controls for the SNES and N64 are not complex. I've player a variety of games on SNesoid and Mupen64. If they were complex then emulators on android would not be so popular.
It would only devalue the brand or virtual console if Nintendo were to sell them extremely cheap. Square Enix port old FF games to mobile and charge $7.99 to $15.99 for their games. Nintendo could charge mobile the same price they charge on their e-shop.
The blame for poor third party support is Nintendo's fault as a whole. It's not something that can be solely blamed on one person. Multiple developers recited how Nintendo didn't bother reaching out them like Sony and Microsoft.
You can't make an console then expect developers magically make games for you. This type of method died during previous generation.
Many people known that it will be exclusive for the WiiU. Just some N4G users don't like it. While I won't be getting a WiiU however I am glad the project got funded and will see the light of day.
Overall majority of PG's games are good(or at least score well) but their biggest problem is either platform choice or marketing. Having people cosplay at gaming events is great but the average consumer don't go to these events.
For the eight games they've develop I hardly seen any ads of them that are out. I just now found out that Infinite Space existed.
I haven't forgot about Nintendo's effort to get development kits to any and everyone or the 120 indie games. However not everyone who gets a development kits is guarantee to make a game that sell in high numbers(this applies to both Sony and MS as well).
Far as the 120 indie games goes look that the Ouya. It's cheaper than the WiiU and got over 600 indie games. Yet only 30% of its owners bother buying any of those games. Having a large number of indie games is...
