Mario Kart 8 came out 3yrs after MK7 and people still cared about it. I'm pretty sure if a lot of WiiU owners back this game will still want it regardless it coming out a year later.

Unless the resolution is already sitting near 1080p, 10% extra power overall won't make a big difference.
Recently Nintendo(May 2014) announced its no longer selling the WiiU at a loss. However previous years Nintendo were in fact selling at loss and even during launch they were sell at a loss. Just because they are now making money off each WiiU sold those previous losses don't magically go poof. Far as the WiiU goes they are still in the hole.

Its big but you're underestimating Nintendo financial troubles. Yes Nintendo made millions if not billions from Wii, DS(I,XL) and 3DS but far as the WiiU goes it has been costly for Nintendo. SSB will definitely boost WiiU sales no arguing about that. However it won't stop their financial troubles.

I dunno some probably was expecting MS to sell the Xbox One(without Kinect) cheaper than $399. Given the thing is weaker than PS4 in terms of specs . Heck I was expecting MS to sell it at least $349.
Torchlight 1 and 2 was worth the money. They were one of the last top-down hack n' slash games I actually enjoyed.
