Well, you can do business on one and fun on the other. You know, so your credit card information or e-banking credentials don't get stolen. Really novel idea, eh?
Why does this get you? Companies trying to make even more money? SAPRIES!
The first part was true, the second unnecessary and stupid.
Actually, with Ubuntu, Linux is easier to use than Windows. Of course, you need compatible hardware, or else the fun starts. But standard laptops with integrated graphics should be fine.
Author probably only likes games like Arma, Operation Flashpoint, Red Orchestra, etc.
1. The temptation to wait is always there, as new products keep coming out. This means that waiting on new components doesn't make sense.
2. Don't build a new system if your old system can still play anything you want at satisfactory quality settings.
The two golden rules of PC building.
We can't recommend you a motherboard or video card without knowing your budget.
Good build. I would go with 2GB RAM and get a GTX-260 or ATI 5770, though.
How can you compare an FPS and an MMO? They are architecturally completely different. In an FPS, you can't enter a town with hundreds of other player characters acting independently. Also, you don't have to track thousands of items, skills and effects.
Doom 3 was okay, but really nothing special, gameplay-wise. The weapons were standard id arsenal, the monsters had no AI to speak of, the storytelling was, as is typical in this genre, subpar. Map and monster design, as well as the eerie atmosphere, were pretty cool, though, and combined with the spectacular graphics, it was enough to woo most people.
I have to agree. Their game-design is pretty bland. They DO make great engines, though.
Yeah, remember Halo? I was thrilled by the material they showed before Microsoft bought Bungie. It had great potential. When it finally came to PC it was still an okay game, but nothing like what was promised.
It's not about an hour once in a while. Some people play a lot more and can still handle a relationship. Why are you even on this site if you only play an hour once in a while, Mr. Casual?
Good article. I think the best way to make it a non-issue is involve her and explain it. Gaming IS very immersive, and while you're at it, any disturbance from outside is detrimental to the experience, even well intended or justified disturbance. If this is understood by both parties, the tips presented in the article should help indeed. It still remains a difficult task to juggle the time demands of a serious relationship and gaming. Most people eventually have to cut back on gaming time...
Tidbits? I think they swapped two letters there...
But seriously, they should apply less shine next time, their faces are gleaming like fatted pork skin.
The developer of the game doesn't have a lot to do with it though, they just write their game pretty much how they would a standalone game. The unity web player then provides the link between the browser and your graphics card.
Soon, this will be possible without a plugin, when WebGL will finally be included in the newest releases of many popular browsers.
I think cel-shading doesn't go together with photo-realistic textures. Also, all the fx are not cel-shaded, which kind of breaks the comic-feeling.
While you're at it, give System Shock 2 a whirl, too. There's even a patch that enables cooperative play: http://www.filefront.com/50...
System Shock was the first game that made RPG elements popular in FPS games. System Shock 2 brought it to the next level. It's basically a better Bioshock with worse graphics.
You mean you have to play those three games until you die of old age? What is the name of this illness?
But seriously, tastes vary. GoW3 and KZ2 are certainly pretty good shooters, but I don't see anything worth dying for there. I don't know Uncharted 2, but from what I've heard it seems to be a revised Tomb Raider clone.
I also don't see much replay value in those games, so either you play only a few minutes a day or you will be dead in anoth...
Hehe, yeah. But seriously, it probably has to do with animations. There is a big difference between the walking cycle of a slim and a fat woman, much bigger than between those of a fat and a slim man. A lot of ugly polygon intersection would occur, I think, if they used the same animations on both a fat and slim woman. And creating new animations for just that?
@radzy: What servers? I thought it was peer-to-peer networking?
