If you wanna stick with Java, try the JMonkeyEngine. Otherwise, try Panda3d.
@BloodRaid: Maybe you'd like to back up your claims by providing links to the many games you have already created?
What you describe is not a game. It's a simple program that reacts on user input and changes it's graphical output accordingly. If you think this is enough to be called "game", then you probably also think it's easy to drive (just turn on the engine, put your foot on the gas pedal and steer, nevermind traffic rules or even knowing the wa...
Soooo...you always pay cash?
Normally, you have to transport goods in EVE, because sellers can only sell at stations which are in a certain range from their current location. The same applies for buyers, IIRC, and both ranges can be extended by skills.
What I don't get is why the dude didn't fly to the desired location and THEN converted the codes into PLEX. Maybe the PLEX were gathered in-game (so we're talking about a reseller of sorts here)?
You have two contradictory hopes there, boy.
The multiplayer is great, yeah.
Recent Macs are IBM-PC compatible.
@karlowma: Recent macs are IBM-PC compatible, too.
No, it's better, because on split-screen, you can't do sneak attacks, because the other guys can see your screen as well.
It's funny, but maybe you should learn to count.
The masses don't have bad taste, they have no taste at all, which is why good things can also sell well.
You play it on hacked servers that don't require a subscription?
The reason why PC games are rated lower in average than console games has nothing to do with lower quality. It's just that PC gamers remember a time when games were truly original and innovative. Most games today don't try anything new. This holds true for both games on PC and console, but because console gamers are on average younger (or at least don't play as long as PC gamers), they are easily wowed by a mediocre shooter like Halo, that, apart from the flood, doesn't offer ...
Ever been to a LAN party?
Bubblefest FTW.
Make up for loss? That's funny. They don't want to make up for loss, they just want to make more money. You know, basically, like every other company on the planet.
I'm not so sure about that. We'll see.
Why would they ever reintroduce dedicated servers, when a game without them sells like hot cake? Instead, what will happen is that other games will launch without them.
What will you do if 9/10 of your PSN friends will play the subscribed multiplayer? You will subscribe, because you follow the flock.
Good advice, but I would skip PHP, because PHP is very similar to Python (it's an interpreted language), but is more targeted towards webservers. In fact, I recommend sticking with Python and using Panda3d for 3d games or PyGame for 2d games.
Game development doesn't only require programming skills, though, you also have to create content. Luckily, there are good and free applications out there with good tutorials, like Blender, GIMP, Audacity, etc.
