A) the Switch 2 is so new it hasn't even been released yet so not really a fair comparison to the first gen SteamDeck, nor do we even know what the SteamDeck 2 will have
B) I'd still rather have a SteamDeck.
I wish Nintendo would release a proper console. Now you have a switch trying to be more powerful, but it’s still not even as powerful as last gen consoles. Why would you want to play cyberpunk at 1080p 30 in 2025 when even consoles can run it at 4k 60 with better settings and have been able to do so for a while now. So it’s a handheld trying to be a console. Meh. Nintendo lost me years ago

game was gorgeous no doubt, but boring and limited. far too many QTEs for my taste. It reviewed mediocre as well (currently a 62 on MC). Every time I mention this, the fanboys come out of the woodwork to say its a great game, but considering my own play thru, the low sales, low scores and the fact that a sequel was denied tells me, im in the majority here. I wanted to like it, but it felt like a Disney land ride on a track.

I think the concept of exclusivity just doesn’t work anymore. Games are just too expensive to make. And honestly it gets frustrating and creates petty “wars”. At this point I’d rather just choose the hardware that feels right and have access to most games. The competition should lie in the quality of the games, not the who sells more consoles. Gamers don’t really benefit from much from sales numbers, but they do benefit from a competition of quality - a race to the top rather than to the bott...
I’m confident no one will agree with me, but I only finish about 1/3 to 1/2 the single player games I buy. They’re often times too long and not varied enough to hold my interest after a certain point. There are exceptions of course, but I find myself playing online multiplayer games more and more, simply because I’m competitive and it’s just more exciting to me. Helldivers,Gran turismo mp, Forza ms live events, heist missions on gta etc… that’s where I’ve been having the most fun. Time flies....

ps5 was the last disc console. I'm 95% confident in that. the ps6 will have an optional drive you can buy for more money on top of the console. Sony wins either way. hard disagree. the latest, newest flagship console is.... disc-less. and the one before that had a disc-less option. thats a warm up and a trend. and Sony knows it will upset some of its base, so it will offer a disc drive - that you can buy for more money, which will make Sony more money. they've already planned this and demonstrated it. if you couple those observations with the FACT that physical sales are down consistently YoY while digital sales are UP YoY means, an all digital future...
Stockpiling is great, but temporary. America kind of deserves this tho. If you’re too lazy or too stupid to realize what you’re voting for, even when the dude is telling you exactly what he’s gonna do, then you deserve the consequences.
