Not for me either I'm afraid, leave this type of game to 'normal' controls I say. Can't really see motion controls enhancing the playing experience.
Yep me too buddy it's been nice having a discussion with someone (makes a refreshing change). I would just like to say however that todays gamers playing the likes of Uncharted 2 and Halo as their first gaming experiences will look back in 20 years in the way you look back at the likes of Zelda, that's why todays 'classics' will live on forever maybe not in your memories but in the memories of todays gamers. The old guard paved the way, thats for sure but the past no matter how glorious has g...
I'm sorry but what has revolutionizing gaming got to do with how good a game is. The yard stick for how good a game is is how much enjoyment you get from playing it. Did you get as much enjoyment from playing Mario 64 and Pitfall Harry as you did from playing Uncharted 2 ?? did Pac-Man and Goldeneye give you the same thrill and excitement as Uncharted 2 and as for Tetris being played forever when was the last time you played it because now it's been relegated to little more than a time fille...
I have indeed played all those games, in fact my first console was a Binatone and since then I have owned almost every console released so let me tell you when I say Uncharted 2 is the best game I have played I can compare it almost any game you could mention. The games you listed were all good in their day but that day has long since gone, dont look back and let nostalgia cloud your judgement and dont kid your self that Pac-Man, Tetris, Zelda, Perfect Dark, Sonic, F-Zero etc etc are as fun t...

After using motion controls (sixaxis, PS Eye games, Mobile phones, Wii-mote and touchscreen PC's) the experience hasn't been a particularly enjoyable one. Waving my arms about, standing on the spot pretending to walk, ducking for cover, turning a imanginary steering wheel or pressing imanginary pedals is not a great gaming experience. The only area where touchscreen or motion controls have worked is in simplistic environments like IPhone/mobile phones or cameras, to apply this to anything mor...
You say Heinstein, I say Einstein, you like potato and I like potahto,
You like tomato and I like tomahto; Potato, potahto, tomato, tomahto!
Let's call the whole thing off!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm quoting from a song by George and Ira Gershwin dont want you thinking I'm trying to pass it off as my own work. LOL. (joke)
Played the PS Eye games Creature Feature and Trials Of Topoq and quite frankly waving my arms about got tiresome after about 10 minutes, so to sit on my couch moving my legs in a walking motion while tapping them to walk/run/stop like 4Sh0w suggested in a earlier post just sounds like hell. Games like Zelda on the Wii worked quite well, but that was controlling movement with a directional stick and using the Wii-mote for aiming weapons and looking around, but without that controller input gam...
Wow and you call other people infantile talk about throwing your teddy out the pram. Tell me why is it when people dont agree with certain things you label them fanboys', motion controls have been a major disappointment so far and Natal hasn't shown anything yet to change that, so unless it does why not stop jumping to it's defence at every opportunity and see what it actually brings to the table or do you just blindly believe it's going to revolutionise gaming because you got told it would. ...
It's a quote from Newtons laws of motion. Oh and you may want to check your spelling of EINSTEIN too, or does that sound like I created the spelling myself ???????
It's all about balance, remember every action has a equal and opposite reaction.
Thats right you can sink without trace.
Well even if he hasn't I have played all those and none are as good as Uncharted 2. It is simply the best game ever.
that if you say something and say it often enough then people will believe it. It's blatantly obvious that PS3 games are several notches above the quality of games on 360 and not just graphically either, bigger game worlds, more players online, more on screen action etc etc. The 360 is easier to develop for, according to some developers, yet despite being in the hands of programmers for longer can't keep up with the quality of PS3 games. This is where Sonys decision to build a large first and...
then why bother posting this article ??
Sure it's worth it $100 bucks a year thats only $8.33 a month, make more than that in a hour blah blah blah. I mean just look at what you get compared to PSN........................... .
Even Microsoft can't believe it's customers are stupid enough to pay $100 for something thats free on every other system.
and I've got to say I'm very very impressed indeed, I never thought Uncharted needed multiplayer so when they announced it for U2 I wasn't sure if it would work, but my worries are officially now over. I know graphics are not the be all and end all but boy are they gorgeous, got shot a loads just because I was admiring the scenery. Look forward to seeing you all on line in a couple of weeks.
The fabled device 'Natal' which will allow us to break free from the restraints of using a controller, actually can be used with a controller to enhance the gaming experience. Now I would have thought people wouldn't be dumb enough to fall for that, but then I remembered Microsoft actually get away with charging people to play online. The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.
The difference is at best negligible. Looking at these shots side by side it is difficult to tell them apart. Lets move on.
In one of the demo videos Sony did say there would be a system performance hit when using motion controls in game, so just how much that would impact who knows, but I certainly don't want to see a game like Killzone take a step backwards or even standstill I want it push on with even more on screen action, effects, graphical loveliness and so on.....
EDIT
I do agree that Wands v Dualshock3 could lead to a disadvantage for the Dualshock3 users but remember the wands are an ex...
