I've been gaming since the days of the Atari 2600 and in my opinion games have changed massively for the better. After playing some of my old favourites from yester-year it makes me realise just how far things have come. Hi Def graphics, online gaming, 5.1 surround sound, in game chat, co-op play, complex game worlds the list is endless. I dont think it's so much about games now not having a 'soul' it's more about nostalgia. After all 'old gamers' look back on these games from the 80's and 90...
No prices aren't news. Where does it list the specs of the machine, or benchmark performance against other netbooks, thats right no where, all it states are the prices. That my friend is not Tech news it's a price list
Edit
@ disagree. My mistake it does list the specs of the machine, missed that bit of the price list..... sorry article
The PSP can already be used as a phone, the PSP 2000 anyway, Just download Skype and your away. Admittedly you have to be in a Wi-Fi hot spot, so it's not the ideal solution.
Never understood why Sony didn't release PSN cards in the UK. If you haven't got a credit/debit card then your pretty much stuffed. I think they could have missed out on a far bit of revenue due to under 16's not having access to PSN cards.
Has N4G turned into a price comparison website now. If it's too expensive just dont buy it.
I like the XMB it is easy to use and has a clean uncluttered look to it. If you want to modify it there are hundreds of themes available and you can always change the background to personalise it.
I just dont get how Microsoft get away with charging for online play, that should be a free service as the games are mostly P2P. People shouldn't have to pay for online game play with in game chat if they want to charge for the bells and whistles fine, but in all honesty who who would still pay for it
The problem with some of those services is that they will cost you over and above the XBL fee, like Sky TV and movie streaming for instance. So even though they are part of the 'XBL experience' they aren't actually funded by your annual subscription fee.
Got one question for XBL subscribers, both Microsoft and Sony offer great online services, XBL does offer some great features but you have to pay. What if Microsoft allowed basic online gaming with ingame chat to be free, but you had to pay if you want all the extra services like cross game chat/video etc. How many would still pay for XBL ???
Dont start with the hate, it's a genuine question.
Pathetic is indeed the word to describe the childish, ridiculous, immature, stupid, irrelevant, mis-informed, self opinionated views of a fair number of people in this thread, pathetic indeed. I do love some of these comments though, they keep me amused for hours.
It's not Sony or Microsoft or Nintendo that create the hype, that is created by us and the media. If a company states this tech can do 'sub millimetre' then thats a statement of it's capabilities, by getting worked up over how they word it is helping to create the hype that you seem to dislike. As for thinking it wont be used, neither you nor I know what any of these companies or developers have planned for the new motion controls and if the capabilities for Sony's motion controls add that le...
Just because there are no games out now that require sub millimetre tracking doesn't mean there wont be in the future. You almost seem to be implying that 'sub millimetre' accuarcy is a bad thing, it's what is called progress, thats also why Nintendo brought out motion+ and Microsoft have developed Natal, progress.
If everyone thought the same way you do games systems would still use CD's, TV's would still be standard def, vacuum cleaners would still use bags and not use vortexes...
Your not on your own. But while I wouldn't say I didn't like COD4 it just didn't hold my attention for long. I played it for a couple of months then kinda got bored with it, it had that pick up and play instant appeal but lacked longevity for me. I do like shooters though so will probally give modern warefare 2 a go at some point.
But for me, and I suspect a lot of others, a OS is just an interface to launch other software, nothing more. That's probally why Vista didn't get too many XP users upgrading and I'm not sure that Windows 7 will either. Even though XP is far from perfect you get comfortable with it, and if all your doing is indeed launching other software from the desktop then that makes even 60 euros too expensive.
Any compatability problems with Windows 7 ? When Vista released I had no end of problem getting my antivirus software to work. Who actually uprades their OS anyway, I only got Vista as it was pre-installed on a new laptop and I sure aint shelling out to get Windows 7. One thing this does show though is that Vista isn't what it should have been, so to charge people who bought Vista to upgrade to this is kinda a kick in the teeth.
wont run on my Dell, the piece of junk packed up two days ago. Never buying Dell again customer service is very poor. Game looks good though shame I wont find out for a while.
Whats a clit ??????????
Edit
Wow I got a disagree
I didn't know my wife had an account on N4G.
Dont agree that the Natal will finish off the 360, but I dont think Natal will offer the same gaming possibilities that Sony's 'wands' or even the Wii-mote do. The biggest problem MS may face is who is going to make games for it, they dont have the 1st party support that Nintendo and Sony have, so if Natal doesn't sell well are publishers going to keep financing anything other than mini games and shovelware ? Maybe MS have some good stuff planned for Natal, only time will tell but one things ...
Looking forward to seeing what software they can come up with to go with the 'wands', the E3 demo showed some very interesting possibilities and includeing buttons/analogue stick on them means you can have complex interaction with the game. Personally I like the balls would be cool if they glowed !
Sony's net book is one of dozens of netbooks you can buy, it's an open market where you pick any one you want and they all do more or less the same job, you can pick one at a lower price. XBL on the other hand is all you've got, there is no choice, if you want a 360 and to play games online you have to have XBL which throws the pricing open to more scrutiny.
