Sony gets a cut of every PS game sold. So they don't profit on hardware, they do profit on everything that happens on the hardware.

I'd like to point out the fact that Microsoft said this was a 4K machine, but none of those games deliver native 4K.
Just because the devs didn't spend time to improve the Pro version doesn't mean it is capable of delivering resolutions twice as high, it just means those devs were lazy.
Best console based on power? Worst console based on games available. $500 to get a slightly better graphical experience.
My PC has a 4 year old GPU, I wouldn't pay $500 to make those games look slightly better.

GTAV had MT and it is the biggest selling game in a long time. Their MT didn't drive anyone away.
