Sure if Sony allowed it and let them sign in with Live, then Microsoft would get some money from that.
But, there would also be little reason to ever buy a Microsoft console again. So, they would basically lose a shit ton of their business.

I've always said the way I see it works is they can do these 3-4 year console upgrades, but any game that comes out as to work on at least the last 2 consoles. So, once X1X Next comes out, new games have to work on X1X, but not on X1 necessarily.

Naughty Dog has been working on the strongest console since 2006. Microsoft has to release a mid-gen console to break that streak and it will only last until the PS5 comes out.

Microsoft announced Scorpio 18 months ago and have never stopped talking about it. Dev kits were sent out long ago.
