Microsoft has made the biggest effort in giving the gamers what they want? Sure explains why they're getting killed in sales.
They've been collecting data for many years. They made a business decision to not include SP. They know they will lose some sales because of this. They've crunched the numbers, it wasn't worth it. Not sure what is so hard to understand about that.
There is quite a price difference though, so that has to factor in. If TT tried to sell their games for $60, they'd be in trouble.
So, because you can't control your addictions... what does that have to do with others?
I don't think that was the main argument. Myself and most people I know who sell their games, sell them because they are done with them. I like recouping some money on a game I'll never play again.
So, that would still apply here.
@Obscure
Their methodology is all over the place. So, yes, I'm sure a multi-billion dollar organization is capable of doing better.
Data-Collection Methodology
All sales estimates on VGChartz are arrived at via a number of proprietrary and ever-developing methods:
Passively polling end users to find out what games they are currently purchasing and playing
Polling retail partners to find out what games and hardware...
Leading the way by bringing old games to BC? That's not leading.
Porkchop's point still stands. If it wasn't evened planned a year ago, it isn't releasing soon.
I think his point is we weren't wrong. They clearly changed Kratos for this game. Not a bad thing, but it is a direct change.
Wow it beat out GTA V, Fallout 4, Super Mario Odyssey, COD:WW2!!! How impressive to beat 6 month old games and games many years old.
They said the beta was only a fraction of what the game would offer. That was a complete lie, it was nearly everything.
6 outfits was their first "major" update? Hahaha hahaha.
It sold well at the beginning cause it was hyped for years and they made false promises.
It won't hold up.
LOL
They were given the code under some agreement. They broke the agreement. They could be sued. They didn't break any laws.
No different than breaking a street date. It isn't against the law, but they could be sued.
As LOL at your quoting MULTIPLATFORM games as proof of something.
Please only show the X1 sales if you're going to compare.
Are you kidding me Krib? Where did he say directly or indirectly single player games don't sell well? From your own quotes:
- "the audience isn't as large" - they don't think it will sell well
- "its a difficult business decision for those teams" ? They think it is difficult to sell..
- "the business opportunity has to be there for them" ? Again what do you think that means? They think there is a no opportunit...
Illegal? Breaking some companies terms isn't illegal.
Yes, I'm criticizing them for hyping this game up for many years and they released a terrible game and now they have 3 teams trying to fix that terrible game.
It is incompetence.
Your store wasn't following policy if they price matched and gave you the discount. Probably one of the factors into cancelation, their own employees can't do it right. Resellers used and abused it as well.
