You're picking out one small part and acting like he made his decision on that.
His reasons were very reasonable. Just a few:
1. He was supposed to be in a select few Alpha. That was made wide open.
2. It was supposed to have co-op. Removed.
3. It was supposed to have VR. Removed.
4. Their customer service was calling their customers names.
5. They tried to change the TOS so no one could get a refund.
...
I don't recall any gamers calling for a new console generation after only 4 years.
Real reason: Microsoft was getting demolished this gen.
@Dan
The FTC guidelines say it has to be in the video for this very reason. Description is not good enough.
His videos were prior to the guidelines so he still did no wrong.
@ninsigma
Maybe I shouldn't have said "a lot of" but it does require research. And I want to clarify that when I'm talking about "building a pc", I'm not talking about just the putting it together part... I'm talking about everything you need to know and understand to even get to that point (just like the VICE article was talking about). For example compatible components? You knew you had to get certain things that worked together. As...
Congratulations, but your single experience doesn't prove anything. Your average person couldn't build their own PC without a lot of research.
I'm not scared or insecure, I've built my own PC before. I never said it was hard, but please don't act like I could take a dozen components (making sure the parts are even compatible requires knowledge itself) over to my grandpa's house and he's going to put it together just like that.
I like the morons responding to the tweet claiming that building a PC is easier than building a Lego set.
I hate when opinion pieces are written as if this is fact.
Disagree with TLOU for sure because Sony got a lot of MS converts that never owned a PS3 and never got to play it. Sales were high as well, which proves the article wrong.
Hi Christopher, I would say this article is one of those stupid ones we are all complaining about yesterday in the PewDiePie post.
Clickbait. Title says we know the release date, but it never gives one (because there isn't one). The article provides no useful information whatsoever.
*Note that an AC adapter for the USB cable is required to play the system but is not included in the packaging.
Uhh they don't even give you everything you need? Am I reading that right?
PDP's video was prior to the FTC's guidelines being released. Did you even watch the video?
Was at the doctor office for post-pregnancy visit. There were 5 other women there waiting. 3 were playing this game. It is crazy.
I'm curious why you decided to make this blog post? Out of all the garbage clickbait posted on this site, why did you make a post about this one?
Hopefully it means you're going to start cleaning up the garbage on this site.
@shub
I don't know the exact details of PDP, but the issue was that the disclosure was not done properly. There were 2 things in particular:
1. Even though the disclosure was included in the YouTube description (which in itself the FTC says is inadequate and it has to be within the video), they purposefully put the disclosure at the very bottom of the description. So, a user would only see if they expanded the description.
2. Any links to the video...
No, it isn't against the law for a company to change their game. If you don't want the change, stop the download. But then you can't play online.
Maybe the dumbest comment I've ever read.
You heard wrong about the 3000% thing.
A 15% drop is not a freaking crash.
