Yes but a couple things, first that was still fairly close to the height of the "console war" nonsense, so increased tensions. and secondly, Sony has pretty definitively proven that they're not doomed. So there's precedent that skipping gamescom does not equate to being doomed.
From our point of view, pretty spot on. Only one I'd maybe give a pass to would be the last of us it's a game I believe everyone should get a chance to play in my opinion, but I won't give it a pass as I believe it's on PS now, so if you didn't play it or didn't have a PS3, there's your option.
Now from the companies' point of view. Tomb raider didn't make as much as expected, doing a definitive edition probably helped them get closer to the numb...
It is a little odd. I myself am guilty of expecting a reduced price, or at least dlc included when I buy it for PS4. Yet I don't expect anything of the sort when I grab xcom 2.
I guess they wouldn't want to have the xbox $40 version sitting on the shelf next to the PS4 $60 version. Where as PC games... well hardly anybody buys physical.
Ah I see. Thanks for explaining. Yeah, pokemon isn't my thing, but I have seen this game being mentioned in a positive light all over, means people dig it, happy for them. Honestly this article, or title rather, is the first I've heard about people hating on it.
ditto
doing that with bushido blade for the first time blew my mind.
I still don't know anything about this game aside from the name. Are people really this up in arms about it to the point where articles have to be written or is this just the author white knighting Pokémon?
Not only that, but was MS listening to gamers after they revealed the X1 and we told them we didn't want Kinect, didn't want always online, didn't want drm, we wanted used games? No, they weren't listening to gamers at all when gamers were telling them what they wanted. They waited until they saw the preorder numbers, and only then "listened to gamers", you know, when they started buying playstations instead.
Now they've righted that ship and the X1 i...
Price was probably the issue. I think $500 is a line in the sand for most gamers based on PS3's reveal buzz. That and I'm sure Sony was pretty aggressive with their pricing this go around for obvious reasons. The parts they wanted for this gen are probably cheap enough now that they can use them without having console gamers break the bank.
@b16 and sniper: it's cool, can't be into everygame. I run into the same thing Bethesda games
@ emperor: ah, I get you know. Glad you're just goofing around. I'd hate to think people genuinely got that worked up over pewdiepie. But just killing time? all good.
And despite your correction, people will still buy, play and enjoy these titles on xbox. And you know what, them doing so does not diminish your purchase of your preferred platform.
@ emperor, honestly, just pushing your buttons. Guy said one line and went into defensive overdrive. Sorry, I shouldn't pick on you like that, it's just fun to watch.
It was on PS+. Personally I got no problem with that though. Not everyone took advantage of it, or is even signed up for PS+, so it gives them a chance to nab it as well without spending quite so much.
Sales have been great from my point of view. Problem for me is I already own pretty much everything I'm interested in.
I think I picked it (gravity rush) up for less than $20 a couple months back.
That sometimes means there's a flash sale coming.
EDIT: called it.
pretty false.
Yup, Sony just let messaging get away from them. Everyone started saying "we wanted backwards compatibility and you give us ps now? that's not BC." To which I say "yes, but it was never meant to be an answer for backwards compatibility." It was always meant for the business traveler, or the out of state college kid, the 360 to PS4 convert, etc. Basically don't look to PS now for backwards compatibility, look to it if you don't own or have access to a play...
