Any game they do in VR will have to be rendered twice, once for each eye.

@Brad, to see what their justification was for charging full price because it could set a precedent for other developers thinking it's ok as long as their games were popular enough.

I get that. but why sell candy bars to just the north side of town when you can also to the south side. Sure they won't buy as much, but it'll still increase your sales. It's not like if spotify was also on xbox, PS4 owners would go "welp, that does it. I'm switching to xbox now."

Yeah their games do come off as a bit... soulless I guess is the right term. for my taste, they have a ton of content, it's just that I don't have a good time playing any of it. I got all the achievements for Oblivion and I think the only time I enjoyed myself was during the dark brotherhood side quest which is like 5% of that game. So yeah, passed on the original release and I'll pass on the remaster.

Yup. By the time MS announced it, many had already made their choice. Had it been there at launch along with their trade in program, it would have wiped away Sony's $100 price advantage.

Exactly? I would say instead of backwards compatibility they've been working on PSVR, PSvue, PSnow, the Spotify deal, third party deals, Neo, etc.
Not saying BC wouldn't be nice. it sure would, but Sony has been busy nonetheless.

Hey don't knock Pandora. I've discovered quite a few artists I like that I probably wouldn't have heard of otherwise.

AH, yes. good point with the orchestra. I agree on not ending with spiderman, opening would have been fine, but you're right about God of war filling that slot better.

3529d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well that sucks. Don't see how it hurts Sony for this to be available on Xbox.

Strange, you say something and get mostly agrees, goldfinger simply says that he agrees with you but he gets mostly disagrees. N4G community, I love you but you're weird sometimes.

from the lead in: " it's no other than former NFL and current actor Terry Crews. "
He used to be the NFL? like the whole thing?

Can't speak for everyone str8duval, but for me the circumstances matter. If it's a new IP, have at it, first party, same deal, or a bayonetta 2 situation where the game wouldn't have exsisted other wise. But when it's obvious it was just to grab some extra cash, like this or street fighter, I'm against it. In TR's case it's at least timed, so even though I can nab it for my X1 or PC, I'll grab it when it releases on PS4, just on sale. In street fighter'...

I do wonder why Sony chose this to end the show with. It looks like good game, but by no means blew me away. even based on the attendee's reaction, god of war got a bigger "pop". Personally, I would have opened with spider man and closed with god of war. But from this piece, I might be wrong, just need to see more.

You know, it's still very much possible to own all the gaming systems and still be a fanboy. I mean you're all over this comments section and haven't said anything positive about Sony or anything negative about Microsoft. in fact, let's take a look at your recent comment history... nope, same thing. Owning all the platforms isn't quite the armor you think it is.

Well the core issue there was MS screwed up their messaging. MS did mention that the games were going to show up at E3, and they did. Basically MS approached the reveal as a way to try and increase the size of the market that were interested in an X1 while not giving enough attention to gamers. Basically "TV" was just about all they talked about and fanboys on the other side smelled blood. Where as Playstation walked the line expertly when doing both, media and games. Basically...

It's thanks to comments like yours I can decide whether an article is worth clicking on or just click bait. Based on your own and some others, seems this was just written by someone rooting for xbox to try and get clicks.
Thanks joeorc, sorry you had to read through what sounds like a crappy article.

Eh, no. principles still matter. If we all do what you say then SE will think "Great! they still bought the game AND we got that sweet MS cash! we should do this more often." Now if we all skip it out of spite, they'll think "Thank God we got that sweet MS money, PS owners aren't buying tomb raider, let's make sure we have that safety net next time".
The only way I see to see the right message is to only buy it at 50% or more off the X1's or...

Curious, I didn't see this kind of backlash when games like Divinity original sin and xcom 2 get relase dates on consoles months, sometimes over a year later. What's the difference? IS it because tomb raider is primarily associated with playstation? does PC exclusivity not count for some reason?

I just assumed Nintendo intended for it to be a novelty honestly. I'm getting one not to game on really, maybe play a few titles on it for nostalgia sake, but really it just a show piece.

@ XMessiah Fine job with that rebutal. BUT, and hear me out here, you could have just said "Oh yeah, I didn't think of it that way." And no one would have thought any less of you.
