they will not, for example;
render games in 1200p, 1440p, 1600p
utilize 64x anti aliasing
have modding capabilities
have 95% dedicated servers
you will be lucky if you get 1080p with 4x anti...

support 1,000s of free to play FULL games
support 100's of ...

graphics and gameplay certainly looked improved since that demo a few months back that got pulled real quick
killzone 3 made my eyeballs bleed from all the horrible jaggies moving around in the backround, and the sub-hd textures and ugly colors, killzone 2 looked way better and still only looked mediocre
then again, i am in the uncharted 3 beta and i think uncharted 2 looked way better also, granted it is a beta so hopefully they impprove it, but the consoles are showing their age man
there are a lot of distance artifacts and jaggies in the uncharted 3 beta.
lol....find me a console under $300 that plays uncharted and gears of war....

the demographic for core console/pc video games is much, MUCH more narrow, comprised primarily of males aged 12-35
they are much more likely to be risk takers, and have little repect for authority, hence, rampant piracy
movies/music demographic spans gender and age gap much more widely

there will be a new nintendo console in spring 2012 and a new microsoft console holiday 2012
sony is a bit of a wildcard, but i imagine they will be out a few short months after microsoft, they don't want a repeat of last gen.....

1080p will be old school and pc gamers will have almost completely moved onto 1600p @120 frames per second
honestly the consoles are, and have been completely maxed and tapped out since uncharted 2 and gears 1 respectivly
anything else is smoke and mirrors, more bloom, blur, lowered resolution into sub-hd,
it will not be until a new gen of consoles that anything is impressive after playing something like metro2033 in dx11, crysis dx10, bfbc2 dx11, dirt 2 dx11 and so on console games look 6 years old....it's all in what you are used to

we are not even close to what can be achieved on pc, the consoles have been tapped out for a long, long time.
for consoles, you need to wait till next gen to see anything new, on pc we will have games that look like the cutscenes in ffxiii, and the tomb raider trailer is where games can look within 3-5 years on PC,
for consoles it is two generations away, if they cheap out and go for the casual crowd, i hope not, i won't even buy anyy new console at laun...
I agree it is not a rig I would use, but for someone on a budget it will still make ANYTHING on the ps3/360 look 5-7 years old when you load the witcher 2 on it
heck, load up shogun 2 dx11, crysis 1 dx10, metro2033 dx11, X3 Terran, Crysis 2 dx11, dirt3 dx11, Stalker CoP, bulletstorm ect... and watch the ps3/360 get shot through a wormhole back to when they where concieved because that is where they are stuck
