People love to drone on and on about the "high" cost of pc gaming, but when you factor in the IMMENSE amount of deal/sales all the slightly higher costs of hardware in the world are instantly negated.
Heck, if you buy 25 games a year at an low estimate average savings of $20 over the comparable console price you just saved $500 in one year, enough for a very, very top end gpu with some $...

on pc, Bulletstorm looked, ran and played better than any console shooter ever made, got it for $40 too, well worth it, made killzone 3 look like it was made by high school freshmen
