The versatility argument is more hypothetical than real: I have both a PC to play games and a laptop for uni work as well as consoles. Most people I know have laptops for work since they can take it anywhere. They can't play games on their laptops so they buy consoles.
I think it would make for a great story if ND made Drake a genuine bad guy ie show him for what he is - a murderous thief. Too many games and movies are cliched with an obvious bad and good guy. I'd like to see Drake even willing to kill his own friends for money and glory rather than "saving the world". I for one hope UC3 is all about the money and not someone trying to destroy the world. That would put most Hollywood scripts to shame.
Being a bit overly-dramatic here. Sony and MS are in a strong position. It's Nintendo that better be careful considering they only make consoles/games and their latest ones havent exactly inspired confidence.
The next gen of consoles should be relatively straightforward for Sony/MS. The standard sitting room TV is now 1080p so all they have to do is create consoles that can play at this resolution at 60+fps. That cant bee too difficult.
I think it'll be a while before we see higher resolutions on home TVs. Extreme HD and Ultra HD do exist but I think most people are comfortable with just HD given the difficulties 3DTV is having.
My fat 60GB just YLOD'd so I'll probably wait to pick this model up with UC3.

Is that power supply modular? Not necessary but will make cable management/airflow better in the case.
Also you might want to go for the 2GB models of the 6950 just in case; if you want a single card solution the GTX 580 would fall within your budget.

If Nintendo were ever at risk of going down someone would very quickly snap them up. But I doubt they'll ever go bust.
They've been predicting GTA5 ever since 4 was released. This is how analysts work - they keep making predictions until one turns out to be right and then they turn around and say "I told you so".

What are you smoking? If MS adopted Blu Ray in the first place they could have spared themselves the embarrassment and cost of supporting HD-DVD.

A lot of Sony studios are probably working on next gen projects: we know Guerilla are working on a new IP; Quantic Dream are supposed to be working on two; Polphony must be working on something; Naughty Dog will be up to something after UC3.
I havent played it in a while but I can remember the game menu being quite buggy. Also it says I dont have anything unlocked but when im actually in a game I have most things unlocked.

Actually 60 fps does make CoD smoother. Otherwise what would an increase in frame rate accomplish?
This is why the BF series is meant to be played on PC and why BF3 is scaled back on console AND at 30 fps. It gives the smoothest possible gameplay on PC to play at 60+ fps. Anyone who cant see the difference is kidding themselves.
The difference is that CoD runs at 60 fps. There is no denying the difference this makes. If it was all about graphics KZ3 would be top dog.

I'm still buying it. Don't care what other people think. Most haters will still buy the game. But BF3 definitely must have IW on the ropes.
I play games; dont care about platforms. Just so happens that most of the best games ever are on consoles.
I thought the same thing when I saw 2014. Think that's too late in the game for current gen.
